A week late on updating a show win for the lovely Ivy. We bred Ivy in February this year and she is the sister to our own Brandi, and owned by Diane. Ivy won minor puppy bitch class at Richmond last weekend, which qualified her for Crufts. Her owner is over the moon with her win. Thats both sisters qualified. We have other plans for 2025 so wont be at Crufts dog show. But we wish her all the success. Hopefully we can make it another year.
Ivy's pedigree name is Silvestre Endless Love at Elytrim. We are proud of team Silvestre. xx To all Silvestre far and wide!
We are raising money for Bracco Italiano and Hungarian Vizsla rescue. In our private Facebook group we had several category's even for non silvestre dogs living with dogs brought by you. The winner of each catergory will get a Digital rosette on their photo and shared in instagram. Winner of best in show will get a small prize sent by me. Winner of reserve best in show will also get a small prize sent by me. All proceeds will be split. If you are not on our Facebook group and wish to join please do get in touch. Find me first Rachel Savage (Silvestre), send me a message first. If you do not wish to join it but would like to donate as ive had two now. Your welcome to contact me via whats app, instagram message, Facebook message and I will give you details. Ive had a few that just wish to donate and not enter. Some professional photographers didnt feel it fair to others but wanted to donate. Donation will be headed to the charities as from TEAM SILVESTRE. Please help. Breed club rescues are not like Battersea or dogs trust. They deal with those breeds only and they are experts in the field in these dogs. So place them correctly. Mostly dogs are fostered and sent off to new Homes with no kennels involved. I also want to donate to Pug dog rescue next year as their work is tremendous. Who knows where this will lead as Ive had a good response to this. I want to give back to the dogs breeds we've owned. I am not entering but will donate money myself to each charity. The judge is a championship show judge. Entries must be in by 29th September and announcement of winners will be that evening. We have categories.
Please join us. ! xxx Birdies litter flew the nest this week and its been wonderful to get more time in with my adult dogs. You forget each time how demanding puppies are to look after as it's non stop. So my dogs have had extra walks this week with me and loving every moment of taking off to enjoy the countryside.
Thank you to everyone who came to us and now are in our wider Silvestre family. Its lovely to of had updates from nearly everyone. I will try and text everyone who hasn't contact me to check all is well. Usually no news is good news. Our next litter is now on the horizon as Geri was mated to Frodo and Im so excited at what Frodo is going to bring our small kennel of girls. We also hope to mate him to Willow. This could be end of the year or middle of next year. Willow is my top show girl and I may take her to a Dutch show later in the year. Just depends on how we feel but this could alter when she is due to have pups. We say goodbye this week to Jovie who is 3 years old. Jovie is a beautiful girl, but sadly she did not like having puppies and on her first litter needed a C section as she wouldn't give birth. Then when she had them it was such a shock to her that it took her three days before she could look at them. Which meant constant care from me day and night of no sleep. She loved them and would never hurt one but wouldn't clean one of them. She did eventually but only wee and not a poo. Ive never had a dog which actually cringed at the thought of eating their poop. So we decided as a family that although she did a fantastic job we would not put her through it again. Surely thats what good breeding is about. Taking forward the dogs that love it, and dont breed the ones that do not. We never breed just because we can. All things have to align well. So Jovie is going off to Carol who's had another older Silvestre and she lost her earlier in the year and has waited for us to be ready to let Jovie go. She can enjoy live on someone's sofa for the rest of her days and we wish them all the best. Today we stewarded for Sheringham Premier open show and got to meet lots of different breed of dogs. Shows are in the decline and they are desperate for people to go and help in the UK. If we do not these show societies will go and that will mean no more shows. We can not just take the glory of showing and doing well with our dogs, we have to lend a hand. Im happy to help anyone with advise on stewarding as is Darryl. We had the lovely company today of Lisa Jennings who had never stewarding.
Because we stewarded for a different ring and judges, we could show our own dogs in the other rings when the time came. I showed Brandi who won first puppy. Darryl then showed her in the challenge and she won Best of breed, Best Puppy in breed and Group 3. Ripley her mum was 1st in Open and RBOB. But she is having a phantom pregnancy which the judge picked up on and said if she didn't have a loose underline she would have won. We knew this before we went to the show but I said let's give the judge an entry as I do not mind if my dog doesn't get anything. But she still took RBOB. So a success show. I have actually done my stewarding numbers now to go forward for grand fathering, but I shall continue to help at shows locally. As I said above unless we help we will loose these shows. |
