Ears

For those of you who follow my page on instagram I am putting products on which we use and find help our dogs a lot.  For those that do not follow it I am writing here so you can buy the products.

Ears - This is not quite so simple as to think ears are clean all the time.  

The Hungarian Vizsla really should not have dirty ears.  If they do have black yeasty ears then sadly there are probably allergies at play here.   You see yeast develops when dogs have allergies.

Firstly out rule ear mites.  Your vet should be able to do this for you.  But then if ear mites are not at play there are some things you can do which I will explain further down. 

Bracco italiano are a different kettle of fish. Those long ears, and all that loose skin makes them a breed which can have dirty ears for life. 

Now we have noticed along side other breeders that vaccines are effecting the Bracco italiano more than some other breeds and two weeks after vaccinating the ears go dirty. This is because it affects their immune systems.  As a breed I do not believe in vaccinating them.   Please look into natural immunity and titre testing and keep away from vaccines.  Use holistic nosodes. 

That is a big subject in itself.

But okay we go back to ears.  We use in our puppies from aged 5 weeks thornit powder.  We have a small brush that we dip in powder then put into ear. This gives just the right sprinkling of dust.  It smells a bit like sulphur but it really works keeping those baby ears clean.   I do it every 2 to 3 days with out daily right up to the date they leave me at 8 weeks.  You can continue with thornit powder until the day it stops working which is usually two weeks after first vaccine. 

We have another cleaner we are really raving about and thanks to a dear friend who told me about it Ive always brought it since.  It's called Peake pet ear cleaning solution.  It has natural gentian in it.  Which is a flower known for its natural properties of anti biotic.  I buy their large bottle and a mixing bottle.  As I pour it into the smaller bottle and squirt into ear.  You warm it first by dropping container into a glass of water.  This activates it.  Then I use in ear.   This product can be enough on its own to keep your dogs ears clear.  

I spoke to someone who recommended this product and she said how much its transformed her dogs ears however since she spoke to me she has stopped vaccinating also and she thinks that in itself is helping his over all health. As he no longer has hives on the body also.

I sometimes wish this was not all true but it is, and the specialists in the breed are all in the same position.  Vets unfortunately do not know this breed of dog.  Do not care that vaccines are the cause of so many health problems.  There is nothing we can do about it.  As all they say is you have no proof.  But the proof is in the dogs health, the ears, the skin and sadly too much is pointing to vaccines effecting these in dogs. 

So what do you need to do if you do not vaccinate?  Do a titre test to see if your pet has immunity.  Again vets are cashing in on this test and your finding some charging between £75 to £220 for test.  This is just ridiculous.  Go to dragon labs down load their titre test kit.  Take this to your vet nurse who will take blood and you send it off.  This will cost you approx £39 for kit.  £30 for blood to be taken.   Because why vaccinate to create an antibody when your dog already has them.  it's silly isn't it.  The problem we have is people honestly think we need a yearly vaccine and we do not.  They do not understand that if the vaccine has done what it should have done then your dog will NOT need another..  All your trying to doing its create anti bodies.  But dont take my word for it.
