Well since I put this original post on, we have now had a third person who has duped me. So guess what Im updating this page.
You can only say its a Silvestre if its come from us. So if you see dogs advertised as Silvestre but haven't come from mine they are NOT SILVESTRE! Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and breeding dogs. People that have no idea about what they are doing. Some breeders seem to advertise off our back it seems. Breeders using our website yet again to sell their dogs as they are too lazy to make their own website and give details of the dogs they own. DO NOT BE DUPED! If someone is using their dog at stud and bragging about coming from our bloodlines, then contact me. As all the dogs we breed go with endorsements on. Anyone that uses our stud dog must put an endorsement on. Its in a contract done, which will hold up in court.
I had correspondence with a lady last week who messaged me details of a breeder who had advertised as using Tango, and she had not used him as yet. Then someone else messaged me today. So I can confirm to you both the lady in Cambridgeshire is not using our dog at stud, and in fact is using someone else dog. So adverts have been changed accordingly. I know we often get people contact us also wanting to know more info on the stud dog. Thats fine.
We have no control on what people charge if they use our dog at stud. In a Hungarian Vizsla the price of the puppy is the price of the stud fee, or a few pounds less. Thats how its always been. Where other breeds no, they reflect for example small breeds who have C sections as norm, one or two pups with a lower stud fee because of it.
The current trend in all dogs is higher prices, and I cant decide why that is. The cross bred dog is a minimum of £1000 now and goes up to 5k as I saw last week an advert but it looks to average around £2500 for a cross bred dog.. Now each breeder can set their own price and their is NO guidelines given by the kennel club on pricing. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact with the licensing now its added extra costs to a normal litter. But when you look at these adverts their is no council license, but they have followed the trend thinking thats what they should charge, although they have no actual costs involved and do things on the cheap too. Surely going to a responsible breeder who does everything for their dogs is by far the best option. Don't promote puppy farming either.
To clear up any confusion Tango is used very infrequently at stud, more so on recommendation and through friends that want to use our dog who show dogs.
Tango has been used at stud recently on two bitches. One near Swaffham and breeder will see first if bitch has fallen pregnant before advertising. The other a lady in Kings Lynn who owns similar blood lines to one of our girls. Both are caring breeders. I will put their details online once we know bitches are pregnant.
Then he is booked to a bitch on the East Coast, but she has not come into season yet.
I wrote that we are having to reevaluate our Vizsla puppy price. This frightened one person straight away thinking we were going to be 5k no we are NOT! In the last week we have realised our puppies are grossly under priced compared to other peoples. People assume we make thousands. But if you look after you dogs properly the dogs will cost you thousands too. We have a very high standard of welfare for our dogs, with no expense spared. This reflects in the puppies we bred also that they are well balanced super babies. Breeding dogs is 24/7 not a five min job. It never goes away and it is their 365 days of the year to look after the adults to the best of our ability.
Darryl has taken over finances now. I can give you a ball park figure but he has said he wont say the price of a puppy until we get a litter. If you equate it the same as if you asked Tesco I want to buy a pint of milk in 2022 can you guarantee its price will be the same. No not possible. Nor can we reserve that pint of milk for 2022 as we don't know if we will have that pint of milk or not. Trying to make it in simple terms.
Another term he uses is you can not walk into a ferrari shop and say you want one but at half the price as they will laugh and send you away. Or say can you hold me that car for 2 years just so I can have one when I want one. It doesn't work in that way.
We have said time and time again no waiting lists until we have mated a bitch and confirmed pregnancy and thats what we do. But we may yet change the way a list is done or have no list at all. Because we are inundated with enquires on a daily basis. We now realise its prob because we have been cheap. Im leaving it to him to think on what he wants to do.
So why are things changing here. Well its me and my health I suppose I've got to the point in my life where Im needing Darryl's help more and more on a day to day basis.
We will not take anyone on our waiting list thats on someone else's. Its bizarre to find out that someone could be on a waiting list for a puppy thats £2000 MORE than one of our puppies, but on both lists. Is it just the first puppy which becomes available ? Or are you waiting for the right reasons to get a well cared for, well loved, well bred, healthy puppy. ? Im loosing faith at the moment in humanity. I would be interested to know why people are paying the high prices. It would help us immensely in knowing how to price our puppies.
We also have some exciting news we can share in March as we have a new baby coming to stay with us. We greatly look forward to his arrival.
