BREEDING TERMS

Anyone that knows us from the show world wishing for a new blood line for breeding please just get in touch as we do sell breeding dogs to people we know.  We are happy to sell without a breeding endorsement to those with excellent reputations.  But for people we do not know to obtain a breeding dog Im afraid you have to follow our rules before we will lift an endorsement.  Why?  Because not everyone should breed dogs.  It's a lot harder than you think it is.  Avoiding inherited conditions, learning about pedigree's, learning about the breed standard.  You take a Silvestre affix when you buy a dog from us and we expect you to care for it.

The only time I cannot lift an endorsement is if I have a contract with the stud owner that I will not sell breeding dogs.  In this case you must speak to the stud owner to let them know your intentions. 

So what do you need to do?

• A bitch must be 2 years of age before a first litter. 
• A bitch must of had all the relevant health tests done.  Each breed requires something different.  Your breeding contract will state exactly the health tests required. 
• To give you an example the Kennel club sets out recommendations:
• BRACCO - Hips, Elbows, Eyes. 
• VIZSLA - Hips, Elbows, Glaucoma, BVA eye test.
• I never like to say how many litters a bitch should have, because some should only have 1 litter as it's too much for them.  You have to be very mindful.  The max litters. any bitch can have to meet a 5 star license is 4 litters. 
• Activity with your dog - not just a pet dog.  We ask you to show your dog for a maximum of 5 championship shows over 2 years qualifying for Crufts.  But you may prefer to do field or working tests instead.  It's just providing you have an interest in the breed. 
• Obtain a breeding license if you are going to sell a puppy.  You can find the Gov guidance on the gov website. 
• Will take advice on what stud dog is best to use.  This does not mean a cheap one off p4h website.  You will continue to go through quality show dogs. 
• Always allow us to buy a puppy back from a litter at the price we have sold a puppy to you.  With out an endorsement on as we have mentored you, plus it's our blood line.
