Hungarian Vizsla puppies leave our home at 8 weeks of age.
The Vizsla comes in one colour only which is Russet Gold. They may have white on the chest and paws. You can not totally breed white out. Any white on the paws totally vanishes by 1 year. Just remember when your dog is elderly its face will turn white, and its legs and paws will turn white due to old age. So if you are against having any white on a coat do not buy a Vizsla.
Pug puppies leave our home between 9 and 10 weeks of age.
The Pug puppy comes in colours Fawn, Black, Apricot, Silver.
French bulldog puppies leave our home at 9 weeks of age.
The French bulldog comes in the colour fawn which has various shades with in the classification from pale fawn through to red, you have brindle and pied. See my French bulldog info for a link on colours to the French bulldog club.
You will have a diet sheet printed by me to give you information to your puppy. But more diet info is in our hidden pages online for you to view.
The dogs we own we health test before breeding. Each breed has a different requirement. To see what health test our dogs have had, then click on the page relevant to mum or dad and their is a list on the page.
We do not send you copies by email or by post of the health tests of each parent. Because at the moment identity theft has increased and not only does it open us up to theft of our own dogs as our address is on the certificate, but also the dogs identifiable registration numbers, microchips etc. So when you visit us to see the puppy or collect the puppy due to covid rules, we have a large folder on the counter, and you can browse this and see each health test is relevant to the mum and dad.
We pay our vet to do a health test on the puppy before they leave, so just a few days before they leave we take them to the vets. It is at this point if the vet was to find a serious health issue that we would have to return your deposit. But if healthy we then text you to say all good, and pick up date is still on the date we had already pre-arranged.
My vet will of written a letter for each puppy which you can show your insurance company if need be. As quite often they will require a health check done on the puppy before they will issue the years insurance.
We advise a years insurance is taken out the date you take your puppy home. Yes their are free puppy insurances you can take up online, but if you go and claim for any little thing during the time you could find you will not get full insurance in the future.
We will not cross breed our dogs for you. Yes I get emails asking, and NO ITS NOT HAPPENING. We have nothing against cross breeding, but its just not for us.
With our French bulldogs and Pugs we will only breed from recognised colour parents.
We will never bred from a dog that is unhealthy.
Health tests are tools for breeders to use, and we find that many pet owners do not have the first clue what they are looking at. We breed to improve the future of our dogs every time we breed. We do not just breed with out lots of thought behind breeding. Remember if we breed to keep a puppy we are not going to keep something which can pass down the generations. We are choosing wisely as we can do with in the guidance.
Our puppies are not altered cosmetically in any way. They have dew claws and a tail. Again we know lots of breeders who dock and remove dew claws and this is absolutely fine. We like to keep tails as we wish to show in Europe and their is a total ban now in many countries. The only docked dog I own is my bracco.
Did you know that Pugs and French bulldogs have been banned from breeding and registering in Holland. This is the one reason we are doing the extensive health testing, as we do not want the UK to follow the same pattern.
Price of dogs has risen since Covid 19. We are aware of Hungarian Vizsla being priced from £2000-£4750 each. This is not a true representation of a great healthy dog, or a dog which would win shows. These are pet owners trying to make money from their dogs, or greedy breeders. I would not pay more than £2000 in this present climate. People have the right to charge what they like. I recently talked to someone who brought a puppy at covid prices which died weeks later. Think carefully.! Wait for the respectable breeder.
Breeding endorsements are placed on our puppies K C Documents. This means the K C would not register any puppies from your dog or bitch if you bred it. Im keen to find proper family homes with no intention of breeding.
If we know you from the show world and your looking for a new bloodline and ask for a puppy, we do not place an endorsement on. We are not anti breeding, we just want dogs welfare to be the highest priority.
I understand that everything you read online states you must meet the parents before committing to a puppy. In a world with out covid that would be fab. But the law states its unessential and we are to send videos and puppy photos instead. So we are not breaking dog breeding laws by not letting you come in our home. We are following guidance.
Your puppy will be microchipped by me as I'm fully qualified to administer microchips to animals.
Your puppy will be registered to animal tracker data base. You will get a 14 day free transfer from me to you. CLICK HERE to view animal tracker site.
Our puppies are wormed 3 times before they leave. Firstly I use Panacur paste, then Drontal for Vizsla puppies. For Pugs and Frenchies I only use Panacur. I find Drontal can leave an upset tummy and too much fluid is used for the smaller breeds.
My puppies are rarely flea treated, unless its summer time and they are spending huge amounts of time in the garden. One year we had a lot of deer in the garden which caused a huge amount of ticks. We have since fenced off the area the deer were coming into the garden.
I always provide a folder to put all your information in. On the front is the puppy's weight so you know what food amount to feed.
In the folder is a receipt which states full monies paid. Keep this receipt as we will not re-issue another one if you loose it unless you pay £50 admin fee.
This website has a hidden pages section, which means the public can not view it. I was finding other breeders were telling their puppy owners to look at Rachel Savage's website to save them writing anything. I think thats cheating and ive paid for courses, therefore I will only post things on hidden pages for my puppy buyers. This password is changed twice a year.
I do not give advice through social media, so not instagram or facebook. If you have a question either text me and I will call you back if its important. If it is not important i will text you at my leisure. Thats if I see it.
Everyone loves photos of their puppies and I send a lot. But don't abuse my generosity either because if you ask me for another photo the chances are I will send non. I cant be told what to do just for your sake.
If you wish to show your dog at Kennel club open or championship shows let me know before I choose puppies.
Showing a dog is not as easy as you think as it takes a lot of training.
If you want a working dog let me know because when I assess the puppies I can see who has a natural aptitude for finding game/birds. Who is a natural retriever and who isn't.
From the above comments you may guess we choose for you. I do not look at the puppies until 6-7 weeks of age. Their is no real behaviour showing until 7 weeks. We try to fit the right dog for the job in hand.
I am asked frequently if I will home board your dog whilst your on holiday. Im sorry but I do not have a home boarding license so can not do this. When the law changed on breeding it also brought in a law with home boarding.
Did you know their is a law called the 5 freedoms of animal welfare. This applies to every dog owner in the UK, you agree to board and look after your puppy, to give it veterinary care if it requires, feed it and water. If you do not keep to the 5 freedoms you can be fined under animal welfare act.
