Welcome to Katie's page,
Ive now moved her from the younger generation to our main Vizsla section. Katie will be 2 years old on her next birthday in early 2027.

When I choose names for our dogs we often have a special meaning behind their names. My friends field spaniel was called Katie and was a fantastic show champion. I listened to many fond memories of her field called Katie. I always thought what a beautiful name. So I decided I must save this name for one of my Vizsla girls. Quite often our dogs get nick names as Im sure most of you will do for your own dogs. For some reason I call her Jelly Bean. ! I honestly do not know why! It just suited her for some reason. I should have called her Jelly not Katie ha ha. She's my little sweet jelly bean.

Katie is feminine in looks, and quite elegant looking. She has a wonderful russet gold coat, which is nicely even texture and excellent condition. Katie is typical of the breed. Her heads developed really lovely over the last month. She reminds me such a lot of a dog we owned years ago called Ginga. In looks she is not like her mother Ripley, and she is not like the girls behind her. So she must take her looks from her dad's line which was Frodo. But she really reminds of of Ginga from years ago.

Katie eats raw foods and loves her dinner, and not a fussy eater. She would eat anything. She gets very excited at food times, and stamps her feet. She is a funny girl and quirky.

Katie is a very intelligent dog. She can work things out in an instant. Katie is like a fine wine, the older she gets the more
richer she becomes and she is just getting better and better.

Katie prefers to be in the house, and she does not like going outside where others will go lay out in the sunshine. She wants to be inside. I think she is very nosey and likes to keep an eye on what Im doing. She follows me with her eyes, and she sits on a bed watching! We do still crate Katie a lot also as she loves it. She will get in the crate with door open and just sit in there. Katies crate however has loads of treats in. We give our youngsters lots of nice things to chew. She has in her crate a piece of olive wood, a Kong dispenser treat toy, cows hoof. Plus she gets a treat every day she can eat easier. Like a pigs ear, or cows ear. So her crate is her den, her safe place, and she loves it.

Katie has loads of energy, but in a positive way as she loves to play. So she is quiet in the home, but out she is up for anything. Katie swims and enjoys going after a dummy in water. I keep wondering if I should do some Gundog training with her. If I get the time I will do, as I think she would enjoy going after a dummy in a river. Although I have not noticed a hunting instinct, its the games she loves the most.

Katie is a good traveller, and she's always first in the car if the boot is up. Some dogs just catch your eye when out and about in the way they stand true covering the ground, and Katie does this. You look at her and think Wow you are really gorgeous.

Katie attended obedience training for several weeks, which really paid off because it gave her something to think about. I do like getting my young dogs into some kind of training as it makes a much better behaved adult. I have shown her also. But we dropped her from showing because we had other dogs to show. I may bring Katie back to the ring later, but for now Im letting her just be herself, enjoying life.

Katie is a sweetheart, and loves a game. She also works out how to do short cuts to get the ball. As I said she has the intelligence to work out puzzles, and she loves her Kong with Pate in which she has. I also give her a Kong treat dispensing toy which she loves. Im sure Katie would make an excellent agility dog, as she just loves doing things, even if it's sitting in the car waiting for me at the post office.

Katie has a great temperament and is brilliant with everyone she meets and she loves our little dogs. She's great with all dogs we meet on walks.

We socialised Katie so early, and we took her out and about. She went to the Royal Norfolk show as a puppy and sat at Bucked Off Equestrian stand and she drew people in for cuddles. She thought It was fantastic. Katie just has that lovely personality where she is happy so long as she is with us and going on adventures. She loves Sundays when we say come on then we are off on an adventure. She springs to life.

Im looking forward to what Katie produces in puppies in 2027. She is genetically clear of loads of DNA health issues. But we are yet to get her hip and elbow scored. We hope to get that done in May or July of this year. Im just arranging now with Breeder imaging services.

Katie's sister won 1st place at Crufts dog show in Junior class 2026. We were so proud of Florence.
