All things natural
If you have chosen us as your breeder, you will be given the password for this website which will unlock files. In these files it will answer all of your questions. I am not a veterinary surgeon or profess to know it all, but I have studied, learned over the years as much as I can do about dog health. It is my passion and hobby.
I advise you buy the book Forever dog by Dr Karen Becker and Rodney Halbeb, It is available to purchase on Amazon now. This book has insights into why our dogs today are unhealthy, with science backing their studies. We do need to think outside the box and our veterinary surgeon is trained in a certain way to pass exams and belong to the Royal college of veterinary surgeons. I believe they have an important role just as much as holistic remedies for dogs. Dogs are healthier if naturally reared.

Natural rearing is a word breeders use when they realise that pumping puppies full of chemicals has an adverse effect, By giving the dog every change to develop its own natural immunity to dog diseases. By feeding raw foods, with lots of natural vitamins, minerals, amino acids, provided from animal meat, bone, herbs, fruits, offal, it boosts their immune system to ward of allergies, and many other diseases a dog can get. Giving the puppy the very best start in life. A natural rearer is worth their weight in gold.
The saying goes if the dogs immune system is healthy, a flea will not want to jump on the dog/host. It keeps clear of the healthy animal.
FLEA AND WORMER INFO
We have just seen a Pug we bred has died from a flea and wormer. This always makes me sit up and think why oh why dont people listen to us. Their are facebook groups dedicated to dogs dying from these products. When you look into some of these products these are pesticides used to kill pests on crops. Its poison on the skin in a handy vile. For legal reasons I can't name products which have the higher rates of potential fatalities. But if you join facebook groups you can soon work out which ones are the culprits. Do it today and learn to keep your pet healthy.
What kind of reactions can a dog have?
Their are products you can buy online which are natural wormers, and natural flea repellants. A repellant is just that it repels fleas. It doesnt mean the flea wont jump on your dog. But you can boost dogs immunity with natural foods, and use shampoo's which deter fleas. You can also spray the coat with water, apple cider vinegar, eucalyptus oil, citronella oil on walks before you leave the house to deter fleas from jumping on.

Ticks are easily removed with a tick removal tool, then use antiseptic on the skin for a few days.

VACCINES
Vaccines always cause controversy between everyone. Firstly I can not tell you what to do. I am not in the position I would like to be, as if I was not a breeder, if I didnt need to have a breeders license, I would never vaccinate a single dog I owned. But sadly I am not in that position. All my adult dogs are vaccinated. But I never vaccinate my own puppies before 16 weeks, as they are stronger, bigger and can cope easier with vaccine. I advise you go to U tube and write in Dr Ronald Schultz, Karen Becker, Vaccines, and start listening to their talks online. Dr R S is an immunologist who makes vaccine. So is not anti vaccine, but he gives us much better guidelines than the UK vets do. So I advise you follow his protocol on vaccines.
When puppies are born, the first two days they suckle from mum they do not have milk. Its called Colostrum milk. This is packed with a feast of natural antibodies from the MUM. Once 2 days has past and the pups have been given their cocktail of yummy antibodies, they then drink milk. These antibodies do not wean off from mum by 8 weeks, no! infact studies show they do not wean off until 16 weeks. If you keep vaccinating your pets you could get auto immune disease. Small breeds of dogs have higher incidence rates of reactions also. They are very tiny and by vaccinating at a later date we ensure they are stronger, healthier to with stand them.
Puppy vaccines are usually done in the UK twice. With a two week gap between. Then the advise is instead of vaccinating the following year have a blood titre test done. This checks if your puppy got antibodies from the puppy vaccines. Puppies that have been vaccinated can catch parvo if they did not develop antibodies. Thats why vaccinating at a time when the puppy still has mothers immunity doesn't make sense. As what can the vaccine do but nothing. But listen to Dr Ronald Scultz. Let the experts explain it better than I.
If a mother died, and she could not pass on antibodies then the puppy should be vaccinated earlier. If the mother died and a surrogate mother was used, the puppy should be vaccinated earlier as it wouldn't of got colostrum milk, unless the mother had only just birthed her puppies. This would be rare to find a suitable match so quickly. As usually people allow newborns up to about 2 weeks of age. We once let a dog go and be a surrogate, but it was late into her caring for her own puppies, so those puppies wouldn't of had the antibodies they required. The breeder hopefully told the owners that they had vaccinated the puppies before leaving or to do it immediately on leaving. These are the only times a puppy needs early vaccines.
Now their is a huge movement in dogs to be totally holistic, and those puppies reared will never be vaccinated. We had someone who came to me because I didnt vaccinate young puppies. We started the puppies on holistic nosodes for the litter. She then carried on with these holistic nosodes. At 8 months of age the dog had a titre test, and had antibodies for Distemper, Hepatitis, but parvo less. So she decided okay I shall boost him with parvo nosodes and test again. I shall be interested to see what the dog has. This dog has mixed with every dog possible, gone to every venue thinkable, and has his own natural immunity. Clever isn't it.! Perhaps not what our vets have been telling us. So do your research. We know not giving our puppies vaccine before leaving gives you all the chance to do it properly.
http://www.helios.co.uk/shop/canine-noside-comb This boosts puppies natural immunity. Also you can continue into the dogs whole lifetime.
Post vaccine inflammation is something seen in Hungarian Vizsla and many breeds. I attended a seminar once. We were shown a Vizsla presented to them with what they thought was epilepsy. But soon as the specialists got hold of the dog they realised this wasn't epilepsy it was inflammation of the brain, due to the destruction of tissues by vaccine. The neurologist said dogs shouldn't be vaccinated, which was a bold statement for a vet to give.

Neutering males/spaying females
Their has been a lot of research into why dogs are getting cancers. The conclusion has been early neutering or neutering at all. A dog must physically mature before you neuter or spay. The one study was called The Hoffman study in America you can find it online as their study was on Hungarian Vizsla.
For many years no study had been done as to why dogs were getting more and more cancers. In particular, lymphoma, bone cancer, Mast Cell Tumours. The increase is effecting every single breed of dog. Studies done do show that dogs come into more contact with chemical than expected. Farm land chemicals, car pollution, tobacco, and poor diet. But they thought their was something else, so a study done in America started. We were lucky as Vizsla was one of the first breeds they looked at. The result was the trigger for cancers and cause of cancers was neutering males too young, spaying females too young, or spaying/neutering at all. If dogs are left intact their incident of cancers were reduced dramatically.
So the conclusion is because early neutering can cause hip dysplasia, elbow, and cartilage disease that the dog must be an adult before considering desexing. In females they should have 2-3 seasons before you consider doing it. So the bitch must be over 2 years of age. The male can be done approx 2 years as well.
Go to http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthy pets/archive/2016/07/27neutering-spaying-effects.aspx?
Go to U TUBE and type in Dr Karen Becker, early spaying or neutering and many pages will come up.
So what other effects can happen?
It is time that these studies are of actual benefit to UK vets, because they are ignored. The amount of times I hear that a dogs just been spayed and its 5 months of age, or 12 months of age. Vets then blame the breeding as they dont want the truth to be known. Owners then blame the breeders, and in fact its not the breeders fault. If you want to early neuter it is your choice, no one can tell you what to do, but if you truly want your dog to have the best chance of living a longer life, you must not remove the hormone too early. The hormone is so important in every aspect.
We must also realise that cancers are on the increase in all breeds of dogs. Their acceleration into old age is something we can not turn back the clock. In the Victorian times humans lived to the age of 40. With modern science we now live to 80. But dogs life spans vary between breeds and you are extremely lucky these days to get a dog to 10-11 years. Some breeds are longer living than others and funnily enough that is the Pug. I have heard of many reaching 14-15 years of age. Dogs because they have short lifespans are considered veterans at the age of 7. Thats quite a shock to many as they expected their dog not to be old until 15. From 7 the dog changes, and you will see a big difference by the time the dog is 9-10. The joints like humans are effected by arthritis, they are more likely to get cancers and heart issues. Like humans in their 60's plus. So as much as we want dogs to live forever, sadly they wont do that for us.
Do not forget to buy the book Forever dog off amazon by Dr Karen Becker, as this is going to be food for thought for those of you wanting to have a healthier dog, and possibly a dog living a few more years than you had hoped for.
