All things natural
In our hidden pages unlocks a lot more information. But this page is for those people who are trying to find answers for their dogs when they become unwell.
I am not a veterinary surgeon nor profess to know it all, but I have learnt over the years that the more we do thinking we are doing right by our dogs, is actually detrimental to the dogs. Sadly the royal college vets are trained in a certain way and many do not think outside the box of big pharmaceutical companies.

Natural rearing is a breeder which cares so much for their puppies that they have learnt that the less chemical used is the better. Giving the dog every chance to develop natural immunity. By feeding raw foods, with lots of natural vitamins and minerals, amino acids, herbs, fruits and giving their immune system the best start in life.
You are of course the owner of your dog and you can do what ever you like once you have taken the puppy home. But please do read these links and see if you understand the importance of balance. The truth is dogs have had a huge increase in cancers in the last few years, and a lot of the poisons we are pumping into our dogs is the reason why.

Flea and wormer information
It has become obvious over the last few years that the treatment for worms and fleas is detrimental to so many dogs. It is after all a poison to kill parasites. So therefore it shouldn’t surprise us that some dogs do react to this.
What kind of reactions can dogs have?
- Sores appearing anywhere on the body.
- Sores appearing at the site of flea treatment. called hot spots.
- Skin burning
- Hives appearing.
- Sickness
- Lethargy
- Mild head nod, twitch
- Severe head nodding
- Fitting
- Diarrhoea and sickness
- Death
I speak to so many people during the course of the year, from people who have never had a dog off us, to people who are just curious about problems in dogs. For example one lady brought a pug off someone and every time she treated it with flea and wormer, it fitted. The vets said the pug had boas and needed a 4k operation. Sadly the owner didn't have this kind of cash spare and she rang me so upset and asked what she should do. As with everything I have to say you must speak to your vet and do what they tell you to do. But she spoke to me and had concluded herself it was a fit every time she flea treated the dog. So she decided to cut it out. A year later she rang me up to let me know the dog had never had another fit. The dog then didn't need an operation. She was over the moon that her thoughts of flea and wormer were correct. Sometimes you just need someone to talk too. Glad I could help.
My old pug would develop sores on her skin the size of a small eating orange after flea and wormer. Its not just Pugs as Vizsla are chemical reactive as well. They benefit from more natural treatment, or treating as less with chemical as you can.
The truth about dogs is if you feed a raw food diet, the chances of them having parasites is less as their immune system is so healthy fleas and worms do not thrive on them. Unlike dogs fed poorer diets.

Vaccine’s
Vaccinations always causes controversy between everyone. I can not tell you what to do, but the research I’ve done i have concluded that the first puppy vaccines are important. But not too early.
I am in the minority when I say my puppies are reared naturally. They will not come with vaccines as we know the damage done too early can effect dogs immune systems. You can cause auto immune disease. Small breeds of dogs have a higher incidence rate of reactions also. They are very tiny and we prefer to vaccinate at a later date. Allowing your puppy to grow up, get bigger is logical sense that it can then cope between with the vaccine.
Mother dog passes on antibodies to the puppies through colostrum milk. The first milk they have is packed with the most important nutrients to pass onto the puppies whilst their stomachs are absorbing them. These important vital anti bodies will protect the puppies in the weeks ahead.
Mum should either be vaccinated her self, or had an anti body test to know she has immunity to Parvo virus, distemper, hepatitis.
The only time you would early vaccinate a puppy is if the mother died before giving them colostrum milk. But if the pups have had the colostrum they now have vital antibodies which will not wean from the puppy quickly. In most cases seen they have antibodies up to the age of 16 weeks. According to Dr Ronald Schultz and Dr Karen Becker they believe puppies should be vaccinated at 16 weeks.
Now their is a huge movement in dogs to be totally holistic. Those puppies are reared, and they will never be vaccinated. If puppies are shown the outside world and they have gradual introduction to lots of experiences, they will come into contact with various virus and it will stimulate their antibodies and they will naturally have an immune response.
Their are a lot of people that give puppies nosodes

Nosodes boosts puppies natural immunity.
Vaccine reactions are seen more often than we would like to think about. Their are facebook groups dedicated to dogs that have died from Lepto 4 vaccine.
Post vaccine inflammation is dreadful, and its seen in all breeds. I attended a seminar once which showed us Vizsla which had been sent in with epilepsy. But on closer examination it was vaccine damage. The dog head nods, or fits by swaying side to side. The brain is inflamed and unfortunately the success cases are rare, and most do end up being put to sleep. It is a fact, and when I spoke to the neurologist he said we should not vaccinate dogs.

Neutering males/spaying females
Their has been a lot of research into why dogs are getting cancers. The conclusion has been early neutering or neutering at all. A dog must physically mature before you neuter or spay. The one study was called The Hoffman study in America you can find it online as their study was on Hungarian Vizsla.
For many years no study had been done as to why dogs were getting more and more cancers. In particular, lymphoma, bone cancer, Mast Cell Tumours. The increase is effecting every single breed of dog. Studies done do show that dogs come into more contact with chemical than expected. Farm land chemicals, car pollution, tobacco, and poor diet. But they thought their was something else, so a study done in America started. We were lucky as Vizsla was one of the first breeds they looked at. The result was the trigger for cancers and cause of cancers was neutering males too young, spaying females too young, or spaying/neutering at all. If dogs are left intact their incident of cancers were reduced dramatically.
So the conclusion is because early neutering can cause hip dysplasia, elbow, and cartilage disease that the dog must be an adult before considering desexing. In females they should have 2-3 seasons before you consider doing it. So the bitch must be over 2 years of age. The male can be done approx 2 years as well.

So what other effects can happen?
It is time that these studies are of actual benefit to UK vets, because they are ignored. The amount of times I hear that a dogs just been spayed and its 5 months of age, or 12 months of age. Vets then blame the breeding as they dont want the truth to be known. Owners then blame the breeders, and in fact its not the breeders fault. If you want to early neuter it is your choice, no one can tell you what to do, but if you truly want your dog to have the best chance of living a longer life, you must not remove the hormone too early. The hormone is so important in every aspect.
We must also realise that cancers are on the increase in all breeds of dogs. Their acceleration into old age is something we can not turn back the clock. In the Victorian times humans lived to the age of 40. With modern science we now live to 80. But dogs life spans vary between breeds and you are extremely lucky these days to get a dog to 10-11 years. Some breeds are longer living than others and funnily enough that is the Pug. I have heard of many reaching 14-15 years of age. Dogs because they have short lifespans are considered veterans at the age of 7. Thats quite a shock to many as they expected their dog not to be old until 15. From 7 the dog changes, and you will see a big difference by the time the dog is 9-10. The joints like humans are effected by arthritis, they are more likely to get cancers and heart issues. Like humans in their 60's plus. So as much as we want dogs to live forever, sadly they wont do that for us.
