OLDER DOGS AVAILABLE
AVAILABLE
Currently we have a 4 year old French bulldog looking for a home. But it has to be a special home. No children, No other dogs. He has not lived with children, but is good with children when he meets on walks. He is a puller on the lead. But this can be easily worked with. Ideally someone who is not looking to meet up with large groups of dogs. Someone that likes to walk at least once a day. Someone that wants a very loving dog as he is super affectionate. But not ideal for novice owners. As needs to understand dogs.
There is more to this dog which can be explained from a behaviourist point of view. This is not an urgent home, but finding the right home is more important.
£550 rehoming fee.

It is a priviledge to own a dog, but not everyone wants to start with puppies. I try to help anyone who contacts me for an older dog. I put a post on my Facebook group which is full of breeders and someone always knows of someone with an x breeding dog or a dog thats been returned to them.
I have helped over the last 12 months totally voluntary about 8 peoples dogs. Some times breeders dogs and some times just pets needing homes. I take no income from helping people look for an old dog. I am happy to help as I firmly believe dogs need homes. Not all people want to go to a rescue for a dog. It costs nothing to post on Social media with in the dog show community that someone wants a dog. To make it clear for those people reading this who think I have the dogs here. I do not! I simply pass on the contact details and let people deal directly.
Im also not Agist! I help the elderly hook up with old dogs and I am happy to do this. I always ask questions like who would look after the dog if you passed away or went into a care home so don't get offended. But to place a dog we need to think of the dog's future if the worst happened. In some cases neighbours promise to take dogs. The thing is I believe the elderly should have the love of a dog. The companionship for them is priceless especially when a partner has passed away.
Contact me and I will always put a post up on social media with in the community of people who may have an older dog to re-home or a free dog thats come back to them. As I said I take no money for helping anyone find a dog a new home. I pass on contact details and let you deal directly with them.
I was asked recently why would you bother? The simple answer is the love of dogs, and the understanding that people need dogs in their lives. It's not always about puppies! Ive been told so many times I should be a rescue not breeder. Maybe one day I will do. Ive always said if I don't breed I will foster dogs. But the logistics with licensing and running a foster is impossible to do.

From time to time we either have an older dog ourselves available or one returned. Or we know of breeders with older dogs available for the same reason. Breeders do not wish to use rescues.
There are plenty of owners who do not want to go through puppy stages.
There are plenty of owners who cannot afford high fees of a puppy.
There are plenty of owners who like to give older dogs homes over puppies.
There are plenty of owners who want to know the history of dogs over rescue dogs. Being a behaviourist I can see why!! So many dogs these days have serious problems and when you take them on it can in fact ruin your own life.
In 2025 I found behind the scenes homes for 6 different breeds of dogs. People assume I take a fee for it but I do not. I am happy to help people. If I hear of a dog needing a home and then I see someone looking I pass on details.
Some breeders take a fee, one Pug I found a home for was sold for £600. But not everyone does. I think it's fair to say if a dog is being sold on that a fee between £400-£600 is more than fair as thats what rescues sell their dogs for also. But we get some people who do not charge a fee at all. I can not vouch for what others do. I would also like to say I cant be held responsible for dogs others have available either. All im doing is finding dogs homes that need one.
So contact me if you would like an older dog and I will keep your name on a register and if I hear of anyones dog available I will then contact you with their details. So I need from you email address, home address and mobile phone number.
