Honestly I do not look at them as breeding dogs because it's infrequently we have a litter. I love all dogs and I love having some smaller breeds. It's also helpful to our bigger breeds that their puppies are well socialised with smaller breeds of dogs.
In my time ive had very few litters of French bulldogs. We have just one female we could now potentially breed from and I will health test her. But I have no immediate plans on a litter from her. I may do this in 2027 to keep another girl in the family. But I only breed them if I want another one. Im mindful on finding the best bloodlines I can and work with them.
We also have a miniature poodle and this goes back to childhood. My mother had miniature poodles and adored them and when she died I felt I needed to introduce one for her sake. She would be so happy to know I got one eventually. She would have preferred it if she had of been with us still of course, but I was not at the time in my life I wanted a poodle. When mum died, it all fell into place. So we have the most adorable miniature. She is a dream and we are glad she is part of our busy little pack.
