When answering our questions if you have more that you wish to tell us about yourself then please do.
Why should we ask you questions you may ask.? Well we need to get a picture of your home life, because some dogs breeds aren't suitable for some families. To save one going through rescue it is better to know up front. As it causes anguish and heart ache having to give up a dog. Plus it is expensive to buy a dog, pay out for all its stuff then find out you cant cope.
So please think about lots of info about yourself which is relevant.

- If you work full time how many hours a day will you be away from the puppy?
- Are you single or have a partner, or share your home with someone who will be helping with the puppy ?
- Do you have any other pets at home?
- Who will the dog primarily belong too?
- Is the dog being brought as a surprise or present?
- Do you understand the training required to own a hunting breed of dog.?
- Will you go to training classes?
- If yes what do you have planed?
- Is your garden fenced in correctly?
- Do you have walks direct from your home?
- Do you realised why you should not over exercise your dog until they are an adult and why?
- Can you wait for a puppy or want one now?
- Can you wait for the right puppy?
- We do not sell breeding dogs or bitches. They will come with an endorsement on the kennel club certificate.
- We do not sell breeding dogs unless you are in the show world or working world and looking for a new blood line.
- Do you want just a Pet, or show dog or working dog?
- Have you heard of Lucy's law?
- Do you understand why we will not vaccinated young puppies?
- We take £100 to go on the waiting list. Which is not taken until a bitch is confirmed pregnant. After pups are born we ask for a further £400 to bring deposit to £500.
- Do you understand why our puppies cost more than a lot of other peoples ? Health tests means we are doing everything we can to breed healthy puppies. A quality home reared puppy costs a lot of money.
- Do you want to show your puppy? Or work it?
- Do you realise that a puppy should not be over exercised? Most of its exercise up to 14 weeks is at home. Letting it play.
- If you work full time do you have puppy creches locally you can drop the dog off too? If you do find out prices first before booking puppy. Some centres are not cheap and you have to include this in your calculations. I usually find asking friends to help or family if they live close by is the easiest option.
- Do let me know up front if you want a working dog, show dog, agility dog etc.
VISITING
- When you visit our home you will see mum and dad if we own both.
- When you visit you will be asked to sign a contract of sale. We do not usually have Kennel club info back with us until the visit. It can take the KC a few weeks to send us the info.
- Puppies do not get microchipped until 6 weeks as their is a stronger chance of chips migrating if done earlier.
- You will be able to see any health certificates of the parents.
- At 5 weeks of age you can sit and cuddle the puppy. But we ask you to sit down. As puppies can wriggle free. If you have children we expect them to listen and sit with the puppy. Not to pick the puppy up and run with it. We will supervise the visit.
- We will only choose a puppy once it has reached 6 1/2 weeks to 7 weeks of age. So do not keep asking which one is yours yet. We ask you to tell us which two you like most of all. Then when we are choosing the puppies if ones characteristics fit your lifestyle we will place that one with you,
- Show homes take priority. For a pet you dont need to worry about construction of a dog. But for show homes yes. So we assess not just conformation but also movement. This can not be done until puppies are running freely around 6 1/2 weeks. Sometimes a show home may not visit to choose until last moment. This is because it takes time for them to develop properly.
- If you have had Covid or just had Covid please arrange for your visit to be only once you're clear. Please do be fair as I have 2 auto immune diseases.
- Remember the parents do not know who you are, so you are a stranger to their home. Do not dive straight in to any strange dog. In fact ignore them for a start and let them come to you. By this way they will get over the shock of you coming to their home. All our dogs are friendly, but they love us more.
- If a dog seems to back off from. you ignore the dog. Some dogs need more time to come around. I often say dogs are like the owners and as I prefer my own company my dogs can be like that too. But some are extroverts who will propel themselves up you straight away. Just be respectful that the dog has no idea who you are. They do not know what your doing here.
- We had dog thieves. years ago so we follow procedures now which protect us and our dogs before visiting. We must have your name and address, we only do visits by appointment. We always have more than 1 person here on appointments. You are not allowed to walk all over our house.
- Lastly collection. This is at 8 weeks of age. But please remember I do not have mum present. I think there is nothing crueler than letting mum see you take a puppy away. So on collection our adult dogs will not be present. Because contracts are signed at five weeks visit and we have talked about paper work it is a quick hand over at the end, unless you want to ask questions.
- Lastly remember we are always here for life time support via what's app. But do not text me late evenings as thats unfair. I do not know other business who are answering texts into the early hours of the morning. What ever it is can wait until 10.30am the next day and if it's an health emergency please ring your vet not me. Ive noted in the last year because vet prices have sky rocketed that my phone calls have got more. You want me to answer medical questions. Now although I probably do know what's wrong I have to be so careful. So I would say contact your vet first. Sometimes though these things are minor and holistic remedies can help. I must stress any poorly dog must seek your veterinary attention because by law you have a duty of care to your dog. Read up on the five freedoms of animal welfare as this applies to you the dog owner.
