Delilah and Mortimer
Delilah came from the very first litter of French bulldogs that we had. She is 7 years old. I do wonder sometimes where does time fly too.
She went to live with Beverly Hoddinot in Wiltshire. I held onto her longer than 8 weeks because I wanted a show home for her, and I knew she was special. I absolutely adored her. She was such a beautiful puppy but also had quite a quirky manner. She loved walking with my Vizsla and would go off smelling grass for mice. I had someone come to see her but I wouldn't let them have her. Yes I wanted more than the best home possible. When Beverly came in I just knew she was it. Delilah was a great little show girl. She achieved more than I had hoped for. She won a Reserve Challenge Certificate which was amazing as Their are such a lot of Frenchies shown. Then she won a Challenge certificate. But suddenly she got a bit tired of it all, and instead Beverly tried her paws at Scent work. She took to it so quickly, her whole face brightened up and ears pricked up so was so happy. She soon began to climb the levels.
Then we bred Bubbles again several years later, and this time Mortimer went to Beverly. We knew he also was a special boy. Darryl says even to this day hes probably the best looking French bulldog he has ever seen. Instead of trying to show him he went straight to scent classes as a puppy and watched what was going on.
These two have a wonderful life, walking and exploring the countryside. I have told Beverly if I die and come back as a dog I would hope to go to her home. I feel truly blessed she came into our lives, and the lives of two of our babies.
