Nancy is with out a doubt one of my favourite Bracco girls ive had the pleasure of owning.  There is something special about her inside and out.  I should not have favourites of course and all my dogs are dearly loved individually.  But Nancy just catches my eye in the pack, her movement is stunning, and she glides across the floor with such symmetry. 
Nancy looks at me and looks into my soul. It's like she is all wise and all knowing.   

​Nancy has the best recall, and her eye is always watching where I am. She is an easy dog to take out and is an excellent traveller.   

In 2025 we decided to have her first litter, and what a cracking litter they were.  We want to repeat the mating in 2026/7. 

Nancy is a Chestnut and white marking, and she is marked very nicely.  With striking coat colour and looks.  She has a very good chestnut colour as it's not too dark or too pale.  I think we hit the jackpot with her colour.  She is well constructed with good bone for a bitch, tight feet, and she stands lovely naturally.  

Some Bracco are droppers but Nancy does not drool, and she is a very fit and healthy dog with out any allergies what so ever.  I put this down to the fact we have never vaccinated her for Parvo, distemper or Hepatitis, because we trialled the first time here herd immunity and natural immunity.  Even I couldn't believe the result.  It kind of blows your mind because you're told by vets that a dog can not have immunity unless they are vaccinated. Nancy is living proof this is not true.  We have had to give her Leptospirosis vaccine which is just to meet our licensing requirements.  If I did not have a license she would never have a vaccine.  

Nancy is a character as she will sit with a huge toy in her mouth and just stare at you wanting attention.  She likes to steal Geralt's large orange monkey.  Which we now know our next trip to our local pet store we have to buy Nancy a very over sized toy.  She does like to sleep with toys, but she is so miffed she cant have his Monkey.  Im going to see if I can find her something large just for her crate. 

Nancy does make us laugh as she can look at you as if she is judging you.  She can be a snob.  

Nancy is great with young children, and especially children on the spectrum. She lets them touch her if they want or just sits amongst like a lioness. I have always taught my dogs to be independent from strangers as I do not want dogs rushing to strangers in the park.  This is the quality of a well trained dog. 

We took Nancy to Belgium in 2025 where she won a RCAC and RCACIB which was fab.  Darryl has now taken the job of handling her as he handles a Bracco so much better than me. I do not have the strength for an adult Bracco.  So now he's assigned her to him in the ring, I shall enter a show in Europe with her during 2026. But we have been waiting because of all the unrest in the world, and also waiting for the pets passport scheme to come back in. But they now say that will be 2027.  So we may get over to Belgium later summer time.  We shall see how things go.   
When we was in Belgium we showed in the morning and then went to Brugge for the afternoon.  We had a walk around and it was baking hot.  So we stayed in the shade, had lots of fizzy drinks and waffles and ice cream.  Nancy also had Waffles!   She had tons of attention. Then we walked back to the car down the street when suddenly we came across an Italian gentleman with a Bracco.  This is where I say the love of dogs moves languages!  We literally both went towards each other stopping in the centre of the street, with our dogs chatting about the breed.  Nancy was not that impressed with the very handsome Italian Bracco boy. Maybe she did not fancy him.  
We always say Nancy did not look like her mum and she took her looks from her father Hank.  She has that beautiful Bracco head piece, those divergent planes, and ooo she has a bit slice of gorgeous in her.  

I'll never forget when she was born as I had always wanted this colour, I wanted her so badly but I said put your sensible head on Rachel.  I did not tell Darryl she would be staying, but we knew we would keep one.  At 5 weeks she glided across my patio and I was like wow!  I knew if she moved that way so young she was constructed right, and it meant she had good hips and elbows.  

Nancy qualified for Crufts 2025 but we did not go.  But then the following year 2026 we went.  She went into Open bitch class and there was 18 in it.  I thought we did not stand a chance of a place, but she pulled it off and was placed 5th in the class which was amazing considering the amount in the class.

I had said I probably wouldn't breed her again because that last week before the litter came she felt really drained.  I feel more sorry for this breed than any other.  But she whelped great, and cared for them perfectly.  So I will do it just one more time. 

We look forward to seeing 3 of her offspring in the show ring during 2026 and I will update how it all goes.  We have Maeve which we kept from her litter.  Maeve has her mother's movement, and is Orange and white in colour.  Her brother Dalton is chestnut and white like Nancy and he will be in the ring also. Then we have Florence who is being shown also.  One daughter is being trained for working with potential working and field trials. So lots of exciting activities are afoot for the offspring.

Sire: Braccorions Quick Look at Callaiscroft 1RCC.  Dam: Silvestre Braccorions read my lips at Silvestre
The breeder of both sire and dam was Emma Towns of Braccorion affix who's been the top breeder for a few years.  Top breeder means dogs that have won in the show ring.
