After our 15 year old vizsla passed away we started to think about a new vizsla puppy. I found Rachel and I didn’t look anywhere else from then on. My top requirement was a confident dog with a sound temperament and after a really helpful talk with Rachel, I knew that the lineage of the dogs that she breeds from is exceptional and carefully selected in order to create happy and well balanced dogs. We welcomed Enzo into our family last week and he is just amazing. We have been complimented on how relaxed and confident he is. Last night he slept through the night (11pm-5.30am) without waking and he is only 9 weeks old! He hasn’t had one accident in the house or the car and he asks to go outside. He is a complete dream of a dog and all the brilliant work that Rachel does in those crucial early weeks is clear to see.

My wife and I had wanted a Vizsla for years, we had done much research and eventually came across Silvestre Showdogs. Even before mommy Birdie was pregnant, we knew that our little boy would be from Silvestre. Ever since then, Rachel and been keeping us up to date with the journey. You can see that Silvestre Showdogs are very thorough and professional when it comes to their puppies. We collected our little boy, Alfie, on Saturday. He has bought so much love and joy into our lives and we knew from day 1 that getting him from Silvestre was the right choice. My husband and I have been researching Hungarian vizlas for the past 2 years - we came across Silvestre Showdogs via the Kennel Club website. After making contact with Rachel, she has been a wealth of knowledge, very approachable and responsive, keeping us informed throughout the pregnancy and post birth. We wanted to find a reputable breeder for our Vizsla puppy and we definitely found that in Silvestre. From the first time speaking with Rachel she was so informative and we could tell how much she loves and cares for her dogs and the puppies, making sure they were going to suitable homes. Rachel has put so much time and effort into Silvestre and we could tell that from our first phone call where we were provided with so much reassuring information and we could just tell how hard Rachel has worked. There is also so much help and information available to owners on the website to help guide through raising a Vizsla. We searched very carefully for the right breeder for our first dog and first Vizsla, travelling 6 hour round trip to view, then collect her from Silvestre Gundogs. Rachel checked we had researched the breed thoroughly and could offer a suitable family home, then matched a perfect puppy to us. She is passionate about her dogs, breeds and socialises them with care and has continued to pass on a wealth of information to us as our first dog now enters her eighth year. Be it diet, health, exercise or routines, she is always available to advise. It gas been wonderful to keep in touch with our dogs siblings via the Facebook group. We have been gingered through and through. In fact another trip to Norfolk happened two years ago.!

A google search for Vizsla breeder produced Silvestre showdogs. A look at the website left me saying this is the breeder I want now to convince her that I am worthy of one of her puppies!. The website ticked all my boxes. 5 star licensed, KC accredited breeder. All breeding dogs health tested - not just for eyes/hips/elbows but DNA tested for all that are available. Puppies are health checked by the vet. No vaccine leaving the decision if and when to the new puppy families. Raised on raw diet for the best start in life. Rachel is always happy to advise if you have a concern - and thats for life not just a few days/weeks. This is also reflected on the volume of advice available on the website- available only to owners.

I did lots of research, reviewed many vizsla breeders, but you stood out from the rest. When I phoned you I felt like I was being interviewed to seee if I was good enough to have one of your puppies. After many discussions over many months my husband and I decided to take the plunge and welcome a new puppy into our home and family. I had decided that a Hungarian Vizsla would make a wonderful addition to our labrador and Abyssinian cat. The hunt was on for a reputable breeder. The KC was a logical place to begin and search for assured breeders, especially those with puppies available. I looked into the breed clubs but no-one was advertising any pups, so resorted to our friend Google for Vizsla breeders. By luck Silvestre showdogs popped up near the top of search results, and a look at the website confirmed that Rachel and Darryl were not only KC assured breeders but also 5 star council licensed. Reading through the website it became very obvious that the Silvestre family of dogs are exceptionally lucky - they are well loved and cared for. Puppies are bred with care and love by people who understand their breed. The next step was to convince Rachel that I could offer one of her puppies a loving caring home. I knew from Rachel that it could be a wait of some months before there was a puppy available for me, but waiting for the right puppy, from the right breeder was not a problem. The excitement of getting a call from Rachel and your puppy has made a safe entry into the world and is thriving is worth the wait. Rachel then keeps you well updated with photos and videos as the puppies grow and progress. I loved receiving my Whats App messages and seeing the pups develop. Due to covid restrictions we weren't able to go and visit the puppies and meet the parents as normal at 5 weeks of age, but with all the information that Rachel provides we never felt it was a problem.

I have been living in the UK for 27 years but a Hungarian and had a German Shepard for 12 years, loosing her broke our heart but 3 years on I wanted to do things even better and have a lovely Hungarian Vizsla as a companion for me as an off road runner and for my retired husband who just need company whilst I am working hard....

I got on the waiting list and watched proceedings with a previous litter, which was so encouraging and when our litter was born her messages started to arrive with so much useful info and lovely way of seeing how the puppies were developing. She made sure sure picked one for our needs and he is a healthy, happy, full of character pup and any advice we need she is there to support us with her ears of experience and knowledge with this particular breed.
Starting with providing a weeks worth of food when we picked him up, could purchase her hand made collar, lead, snufffle mat, treats we can order any treats, chews and other products from her later and it feels as though we are part of a new family with the silvestre dogs, all of which look full of life and health. Coupled with only wanting a Kennel Club assured breeder, we narrowed our search. As soon as we looked at the Silvestre website we felt like we had hit the jackpot. There is so much information, knowledge, obvious dedication & pure love of dogs leaping from the pages that we immediately thought, we need to contact this lady...
Once my husband had spoken to Rachel our decision was made. We had found a breeder with passion, who was willing to give her time generously to tell you the whole story, good & bad with no pressure, in fact she goes to pains to paint the picture of how tricky raising a Vizsla can be. Here is a woman who is not trying to sell you a puppy, she is trying to place her puppies with people she trusts to do things right by them.
We were very happy to wait knowing we were in the right place.
We ended up with a puppy from Rachel’s son Joshua. Joshua is equally as dedicated to his puppies & was amazing at keeping us updated every week on the puppies progress. When we met Joshua & Rachel they were exactly as we’d expected, professional, knowledgable & generous with their time. We felt completely reassured that we had made the right decision.
Both Joshua & Rachel have been amazing at answering questions to help us navigate through the first few weeks & we have found Rachel’s hidden resources for puppy owners invaluable. We end up going back to some section in there most days.

They told us there was no such thing as the perfect puppy, but we think maybe they were lying about that bit, ours is pretty perfect in our eyes 😜 (despite the sharkies, zoomies, jumping & general craziness that are part & parcel of Vizsla puppy life)!

You might describe us as repeat shoppers but we’ve had 3 dogs from Silvestre Show Dogs spanning the last 15 years. Trust me we’ve done a lot of research and wouldn’t consider buying a dog if they went the right breeder. Silvestre dogs are incredibly well reared at home by someone who truly cares about their wellbeing and health. It’s the most perfect environment for any puppy to start life. Our vet has commented on all 3 occasions how stunning and healthy the puppies are.
The support you receive from Rachel is incredible, from hidden pages, top tips etc., on her website (only available to Silvestre puppy owners) to her willingness to share thoughts, advice, pictures and videos so you can watch them grow from new born pup until the moment you bring them home. With the country gripped with COVID-19 and no home visits allowed this is more important than ever.
We took ownership of our Vizsla in December 2020 and from the moment he was born in October we received regular updates, pictures and videos of the litter, we almost felt we were helping rear the pups ourselves! As we know pups grow like weeds, it was amazing to see the changes, day by day, week by week. A real hands on ‘virtual’ approach!
We really can’t recommend Silvestre Show Dogs highly enough.

Now that I have 2 wonderful Silvestre vizslas I thought I should let Rachel know how happy I am that I have her beautifully bred dogs. Rachel was recommended to me by the breeder of my first vizsla (who had Silvestre lineage) and I am very grateful for this. Our first boy from Rachel is a beauty with the most wonderful temperament; he is now 2½. During the process of this “adoption” Rachel was constantly on hand with words of wisdom, photos and videos. We were able to visit the whole litter at 5 weeks and collected our boy at 8 weeks. I have continued contact with Rachel and at the beginning of 2020 I asked to be put on the list for another boy. Then the pandemic struck! It took many months but Rachel was on hand all the way – there was no way I would have come off her list and gone to another even if it meant that we got a puppy sooner. There is a certain pride people take in their work and what they produce – Silvestre has this in abundance.
When we found out that we had a new baby coming to us, Rachel, as ever, kept up with photos and videos (and any questions we had!). The pandemic meant we weren’t allowed to travel to see the litter at 5 weeks but this truly wasn’t an issue. Even though I was aware from our previous experience, Rachel was still as open as she could be and I never had any doubt that a puppy was awaiting me. I think the pandemic has given rise to a lot of sad stories in regard to buying puppies, from bad breeders to actually no litters, but I can honestly recommend Silvestre. Everything is absolutely above board, licensed, registered and whatever else is needed.
Our new puppy is now 4 months old and is another Silvestre delight… with teeth! I am already wondering if I can sneak another dog into our household 🤫

I first met Rachel and Darryl at Crufts in 2013 and they enthusiastically told me all about their Vizslas and I met the truly wonderful Chilli.
I took their details and kept them until we were ready to have a new Vizsla in our lives. This was at the start of 2020 before Covid struck. We read through the Silvestre website and knew that we would have to be patient and go onto the waiting list. The great benefit of this is that you get to know the Silvestre approach and their dogs through regular blogs and Instagram posts. `They share detailed information about health screening and are truly responsible breeders.
We compiled and sent what I called a “Dog CV” so that they could see our previous experience with the HPR breeds. I also sent a video of our house and garden. We truly wanted to be chosen to give one of their wonderful puppies a home but certainly did not assume that we would be.
We followed Sassys pregnancy whilst trying to not get too excited as there is no way of knowing how many puppies there will be and how many boys or girls. Even once they have arrived you must be patient and wait for Rachel to phone you as she is busy caring for mum and the puppies and it is exhausting. However, we soon had an exciting phone call to say that there would be a girl for us.
Due to Covid restrictions we did not expect to have the usual 5 week visit but the regular photos and videos more than made up for it. We had also had photos and video of dad Tango and mum Sassy so could see they had a wonderful life. We gave Rachel some more information about the type of personality and characteristics we were looking for so that as those emerged at about 6 weeks she could choose one for us. We then had more photos of our beautiful girl until we went to collect her at 8 weeks.
On collection day in December 2020 we were given lots of information, time to ask questions and a lovely puppy pack.
Amber is now 4 months old and such a wonderful girl. Her physical shape is amazing, she has a shiny coat and bright eyes. She is a clever girl and has been easy to house train and settle to sleep. She is calm and considered when encountering new experiences and other dogs. All of this is a result of the early socialisation that Silvestre do with their dogs. She is an absolute joy and we couldn’t imagine life without her.
The fact that Rachel and Darryl allow you to stay in touch for the dogs whole life is the sign of a good breeder and being caring people.

We were sent lots of videos and photos on WhatsApp to make us really feel part of the pups journey. Happily for us, lockdown 2 ended just in time and we collected Bruce from his first home with Rachel, Darryl, Sassy, Tango and the rest of Silvestre family. Bruce was 4 months old yesterday and we could not love him more. Its hard work, really hard work at times, but amazing at the same time, and you know that someone who knows their stuff is just a message away. Thank you Silvestre Show dogs for everything.

Ive not had one problem with him, because he always has been stimulated. He loves work and playing with all other dogs, and loves his walks, we have a chuck it but I dont play with the ball much because he will beg and beg for it. He carries one everywhere. Ive done a lot of training using a ball as a reward. He is just amazing! I can not thank you enough! he's so perfect

When my partner and I decided on the Vizsla as the breed we wanted we began our search to find a reputable and responsible breeder. Then we found Rachel. She has been fantastic and has a whole wealth of knowledge about the breed. Rachel kept in regular contact with us by sending weekly photos and text updates. In just the several times we met Rachel we felt like we had known her for years and just from her knowledge and experience she was able to read us like a book as potential owners and picked us the perfect puppy.

We searched very carefully for the right breeder for our first dog and first Vizsla, travelling a six hour round trip to view, then collect her from Silvestre Gundogs. Rachel checked we had researched the breed thoroughly and could offer a suitable family home, then matched a perfect puppy to us.
