STAND OUT SHOW POINTS - 2 BEST PUPPY IN BREED, 1 RESERVE BEST OF BREED, 1 BEST OF BREED, 1 GROUP 3
Brandi came into my hands on the 1st February when she was born, at the time of course I did not know it would be her staying. Although I do have a good idea at birth certain qualities. At 6 1/2 weeks I chose her from her siblings. Her sister Ivy went to live with Diane and both girls we planned to show. Time seemed to fly by and Brandi went all through the puppy stages, and then at 6 months I suddenly thought, oh she's changed again. At just under 7 months she went into the ring and with a bang won BP, RBOB, then next show BP. BOB, G3. I was quite surprised because in my mind she is my baby still. But when I look back at videos I think is she really mine ( EEK, FACE PLANT KISS ON HER CHOPS). She really is a gorgeous dog inside and out. I feel confident she is going to have quite a good show career now, so I wont be breeding from Brandi for several years as Im going to campaign her.
Her mum Ripley is a fantastic producing bitch in quality of construction and I never really wanted to breed from her as Darryl knows I wanted to just show her. But I do have to pay for my dogs lifestyle. It often ruins their body shape, but Ripley bounced back and proved after her first litters she could still win. But I may retire Ripley in the next few months I shall see. As brandi will take over her mother's place in the ring.
Brandi is a sweet puppy, she played non stop with my Frenchie puppy for a start. Kiki and Brandi would have some fantastic games, and I would stand in the garden and watch them zooming around with a smile on my face. Zoomies means you've got a happy dog.
Brandi has had the luxury of an excellent mother's eye watching over her, loving and grooming her. Most puppies leave and they never see their mother again and in most cases mothers dont want to meet their offspring. But Ripley is very motherly towards Brandi.
Brandi went out as you can see at the age of 8 weeks and I took her to the woods and let her play around, then put her back in the buggy again so she did not over walk. But this early exposure helps dogs get social skills, hearing noises of the forest, noises of farmlands and so on. So we always take our puppies everywhere. I took Brandi to the Royal Norfolk show and the noise of gun shot, birds of prey, tractors, horse and carts, cattle and so on. We sat on a stall and lots of people came in and out and it helps with them meeting people. So this puts them in good stead for the life ahead. Brandi as a result has a wonderful temperament. Im really taken with this pup and Im sure she has a great show career ahead.
I shall get Brandi's rabies done and take her to a show in Europe. I do not like vaccines, so it wont be until I need it. It's a bit of a shame really we have to have these dogs vaccinated to travel in and out of the country.
