Welcome to Maverick's page,
I realised I have not updated his page in ages so have added some more photos of him, and re writing about Maverick. So this is up to date.  

Maverick came to us from the Roughshoot Kennels Lincolnshire and I had no intentions of having a male Vizsla.  I went with a friend who was having a puppy. I said on the day Wow I loved that puppy boy.  Two weeks later the phone rang and it was Sharon offering me Maverick.  So destiny threw us a curve ball. 

Ive got to say Maverick is one in a million dogs.  From a not so easy puppy hood he turned into a dog I call PERFECTION.  He is the best dog to take out anywhere as he is easy going.  Has no interest in running up to other dogs. He is always up for games and loves playing with the ball or retrieving from water.  He is an excellent swimmer.  His best friend is now Geralt and those two have a really lovely relationship together. 

Maverick has the run of my lounge because he's a good boy, and he sleeps on the sofa at night. He is always ready to greet me in the mornings, but he sometimes wants a lay in. He is not a dog to get you up early. 

Maverick is also brilliant with the little dogs and loves playing with Kiki my youngest frenchie. He will roll on the floor and she rolls all over him. 

Maverick is an easy going dog and will sit or lay at the pub tables whilst we have a meal.  He is happy to be with us, and is a brilliant traveller. 

Maverick has a brilliant appetite and enjoys a wide range of foods. He eats the raw diet, and has minces with good proteins. 

I know I am bias but I still think he is one of the best looking Vizsla ive laid my eyes on.  He has that wonderful masculine headpiece but not course, his chiselled head piece makes me attractive and I love his head. He has that square muzzle they should have.  He gets so excited when I pick up dog leads now as he knows he is coming.  He is not a tall dog, which is not shown in the photos I take. He is in breed standard range. He is chunky and can easily do a days work which we have to take into account. Because these dogs are bred for a purpose and we breed to the standard. 

Maverick has been shown, and won his UK stud book number with the Kennel club. This is no easy feat these days.  But he is qualified for Crufts dog show for life because he wont his stud book number.
Maverick also went to France and won and Belgium and won. So he has 2 CACIBs, 2 CACS.  But Maverick does not enjoy showing and he really lets himself down as he hates it so much.  We tried him again this year but he still just finds the whole process so boring. He would rather be in the water retrieving.  We are pretty resigned to the fact now that he wont become a show champion because we have always said do not force a dog to do something they do not like.  But what he really is a champion of is producing top quality puppies and he's had some beauties.  I have decided in the next year to have some semen saved as I would hate to loose part of Maverick.  He has given us the legacy of a daughter which is Brandi.  I do hope to keep another from him or a boy if he can mate someone's dog from a different bloodline. But I am not ready for another male yet.  I hope I can achieve this in a few years.  Anyone who has a Maverick son or daughter is lucky as they are turning into such stunners.  Its been lovely watching his offspring develop into adults. 
Maverick did obedience when he was young and has never forgotten what I taught him. He loves to do little tasks and he gets snacks as rewards. 

Mavericks blood line is show and working as his mother comes from Working lines. This can be seen in Maverick when he is retrieving and he enjoys that more.
