Well here he is Mr Handsome boy, and I thought it was about time to update his page.  This boy is everything I would want in a dog.  He is all male, has that beautiful head piece.  Strong and stands out in a crowd.  He has the personality to die for and his temperament is fantastic. One in a million dogs. 

Lets look at Maverick in more detail -
Maverick was born to Sharon and Jim Bergin of Roughshoot Kennels in Lincolnshire, and we really was not after a boy at the time. I had the pleasure of going to stand the puppies and take photos as my friend was having a girl puppy.  I remember placing him on the table saying I just love this puppy.  He reminded me of my Champion Chilli in so many ways.  Two weeks later Sharon rang me and said "Would you like him"? I had to run it by Darryl but this was a done deal and he came to our home. 

Maverick was a typical Vizsla puppy, full of fun and life. Although he also had a sensible head on his shoulders most of the time. He has this little endearing habit he still has today, and ive noticed one of his daughters does the same thing, which is when they want dinner.  He wants his dinner so badly he sits, and has one front leg on floor but the other leg he waves and paws the air.  It's begging for his dinner.  It's so blooming cute to watch. 

Maverick is an excellent swimmer, and he loves to retrieve any ball, dummy and brings it back to shore.  He will swim in deep water and has no fear.   

Maverick loves Geralt, and the two of them have spent many beach days together.  We always take boys away on holiday so it does not leave our family with males to worry about when bitches are in season.  So maverick has been to Wales, The Lake District, Cornwall.  But he has also been to shows in Belgium and France, so he is well travelled.  

If I pick up the leads Maverick is the most excited.  Happy to sit in the car, because he knows an adventure awaits us. 

Maverick sleeps in the lounge at night, but he also still likes his crate.  He sleeps also with our other older boy Indie who's 8 years of age.  The boys get on so well together.   Maverick is happy to lay in!  I love this and when we go on holiday he is not a dog which would get us up early.  

​Maverick also loves our little dogs. He will lay on the floor and let Kiki roll over him.  He is also great with our cat Gabby who is a British blue cat.  If she comes in she will get beside him on the sofa. 

Maverick has a brilliant appetite and enjoys just anything we put in front of him.  There has never been a day where he does not want his dinner.  I know that he needs to be put on a diet at the moment. 

I know Im bias but I still think he is one of the best looking Vizsla I have laid my eyes on.  His mascuilne headpiece tells you he is all boy, but it's not over done. He has a square muzzle, and lovely dark eye colour.  He was a dog that had a paler eye colour until he got mature, and now it's a shade darker than coat which it should be. He has a great colour coat.
Maverick is quite sociable as he likes to say hello to people, but he is not going to go off with everyone.  He is just well trained and well behaved. 

We wanted Maverick to be the best next show dog but he had other ideas.  He got bored with it, and he then started to really dislike it and I could pick up on his energy that he was not happy at shows. So I said enough is enough. It's a shame because he was needing 2 tickets to be an international champion.  We know he is a champion inside. Ive always said I would not show any dog that did not like it.   But we take consolation that he is producing some of the best puppies.  We own 2 of his daughters, and we will keep another.  I really should store his semen so that I have the opportunity to bring his line back in ten years if needed.  
Maverick has his UK stud book number which is not easy to gain.  This means he is qualified for Crufts dog show for life. 

Maverick did obedience when he was a puppy and he has never forgotten it. 

Mavericks mothers line is all working, steady English dogs. His father's line is show, and his half brother won Crufts and many many tickets in the UK.
