You can find me on Instagram and Tik Tok. Im endeavouring to do small videos which can help people with ailments of their dogs. The first one is about hairless patches on dogs. From time to time we find hair loss, and it maybe the result of a good poo rolling session weeks before. Foxes carry scaroptic mange and suddenly your dog has it. There are other reasons why dogs get red skin, itching skin, weeping skin. If in doubt you can consult your veterinary surgeon who will skin scrape and run tests. The reason for my little videos is a lot of owners now wish to treat holistically so with out the need for strong poisons to kill those pesky critters. If in doubt with any health problem your vet is the first person you should ask. I shall continue to put online helpful videos over the coming year. Neem oil is a natural oil derived from the neem tree, which is an evergreen of the tropics. It has a deep yellow colour and to me smells like garlic. Some can not smell garlic but I can. You should not use this neat on the skin as it's pretty strong. So use 1 part neem oil to 10 parts carrier oil. Im using an almond oil. Mix it thoroughly and dab on the hair loss area, leaving it on the skin. Do this for 7 days and see if there is less redness, less itchiness. I always crate a dog of mine after it's been done because they will rub it onto furniture. It dries after about an hour and the dog can come out and play again.

As you may know I change the password on our owners group often which stops hackers getting into the site. So after this message I will now change password.
In the meanwhile I have just added new pages for you to read for help. How to train your puppy from 8 weeks to 16 weeks to stop separation anxiety before it starts, and looking at how we are the ones who usually start it. Some tips I hope can help. By 16 weeks you will be in training and your trainer can take over with tips. It's absolutely okay if they train your puppy in a different way to how I do it. Im not a qualified trainer, my experience is just living with animals. In the first aid section I have placed a documents how to take a dogs temperature. How to check for dogs vitals Allergic reactions. I recently did a first course in animals and I will try and incorporate what ive learnt into our files. Also Im now toying with the idea of writing a book. I am about to do a seminar on dog law and hugely looking forward to it. but I will be doing more seminars are the year progresses. I kind of got stopped in my tracks for the last few years caring for my mum who was totally disabled. My life was put on hold, Now I hope to explore more avenues of dogs. Hi Everyone
Just a note that if you have brought a dog from us and my hidden pages doesn't answer one of your questions then please do what's app me, as Im always happy to help. I shall endeavour to do much more this year. Im currently about to do a seminar many subjects to do with Dog Law. Looking forward to it. So sad to see so many XL bullies being put to sleep for no reason. Ive never owned one as they never really appealed to me as an owner, but my heart breaks for owners and dogs alike whose life has become so stressed with the new laws coming in. It's like any dog breed you will have some that have hurt people. But it doesnt mean the whole population of the breed needs destroying. Im pleased to see some vets are refusing to put to sleep healthy dogs. It's a sad day. All I can say is if you are a dog lover and the election coming up, make your voice heard. With the explosion of breeders during covid, because of high priced puppies, this added more and more criminals to the breeding of dogs. Their are many loving XL bully breeders and breeding sound dogs with loving temperaments. But no longer, I wonder which breed they will pick on next. French bulldogs got ruined by unscrupulous breeders cashing in on high price designer rad colours. Now what will happen. sigh! Anyway food for thought is no matter what breed you buy the breeder is just the starting point. You want home raised, health tested parents, breeders with a passion for their dogs. Then it's up to you to paint the happy picture which means social skills, training, more training, and more training.! Another important fact is teach your dog to be left home alone, separate from you. Im going to write a paper for our hidden pages on how to get your dog to learn to be separate from you. So watch this space. Im considering a wee video too. Happy New year to everyone! May this year be kind, put food on the table, good health to all and happy days.
I feel like ive missed Christmas this year as our beloved Frooti decided to give birth days earlier than expected. One Boxing Day we had puppies, and Ive not slept since. It's exhausting loosing so much sleep. They are strong, healthy and doing very well, and Im over joyed with them. I shall look to take deposits when they are 3 weeks of age. I shall have a boy available by the looks of it. So please do get in touch if you're waiting. I would love a chat on the phone with you. I can confirm Joshua's girl Pepper is pregnant and developing a tummy. I wont know just yet how many, but we should get an idea when she is 7 weeks. As Joshua says soo long as mum is healthy, and the puppies he doesn't care if she has 1. Which is the best way at looking at it. He has learnt something from his mum. His puppies will be raised in his home which is next to ours. Our Ripley looks to be pregnant but we should know in another week for sure. Thank you for all the enquiries. We are now doing waiting lists. Thank you to all the Silvestre owners who sent me photos over the holidays which. I have tried to share them all. My mind got a bit fuddled after Boxing Day so I may of missed some. Looking forward to meeting new people this year. I have various plans ahead to do with the dogs. We have a few shows we will be going too. Im going to explore healing with animals which will be interesting. Remember if you have questions to text me over emails as I dont always pick an email up quickly also please text around 10,30am once Ive walked the dogs and fed them and then I can answer your enquiries. Rachel I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy Christmas.

But calls 2nd and into the new year. I have been alittle slow updating the site recently. We have been so busy.
I attended a first aid course on dogs, my second one. I now have another 3 years. You can do online courses or do them in person. Of course in person is much better as you can ask questions, see things done in front of you. But you can do online or in person. I am starting a new chapter in my life in January and Im going to a Reiki Teacher who is going to help me explore healing with dogs and other animals. Ive been told several times that I am a natural healer so I want to explore more. Everything I do benefits our dogs in some way. Ripley was mated by Maverick and we expect puppies end of January 2024. I can confirm our Frooti the Frenchie is pregnant and expecting puppies end of December. It's that time of year where the weather drops temperature but what does that mean for our dogs. Here are 10 tips from us. Tip 1, dogs loose weight during colder weather as they are burning more fat stores to keep warm. So provide a coat. Coats must fit and not restrict the dog when running other wise your dogs skin will get sore where the coat rubs. Some dogs gain weight because they are less active, and you need to diet them. You wont know what your dog will be like until your into winter and can see the dog. Tip 2. If you walk on pavements late at night, be aware they may be gritted with salt. When you come back wash the paws with Luke warm water to remove salt. If a dog licks salt it is toxic. Tip 3. If you are running and it's frosty weather note that ice can be a problem to dogs. They can slip on it, they can mis judge the surface on a lake and run on it and it can break and the dog goes in. Several people have died trying to save their dogs. So keep the dog on a lead if you can where there is a frozen lake. Tip 4. Autumn illness. This is something that appeared a few years ago in forests. It is not that well understood. But what are the symptoms ?
Tip 5. Sore feet and cracks. This can be due to cold surfaces. If your dog runs fast and twists and turns at full speed they can hurt themselves. It is okay to buy dog boots and put on if your dog is prone to cracks. How do you treat the cracks. ? I would go to my vet for advice. If it's minor you can treat yourself with camerosa ointment. Keep feet clean by wearing boots. There ipis a product called paw wax which can help with cracks on feet. Tip 6 Sore nose, crusty nose. This can get worse in cold weather. To treat use a nose balm, and use it every day and it cures a crusty nose. I have one from pets at homes superstore which is brilliant. Tip 7 Remove outside water bowls if they are on the floor. You can raise them up for birds if you like them to have a drink. Bowls will ice over, and other animals will come and drink from them at night in particular rats. You dont want to encourage rats because of leptospirosis. Bring the dogs bowl in for winter. If you own a Bracco they drool awful when drinking water, so you can just pop a bowl out and let them drink and then come back inside and pick bowl. up. We have a spaniel bowl inside which stops a lot of mess. They are designed to stop ears going in the water bowl. Tip 8. If the weather is bad outside, keep your pet inside. You can give them some treats such as cows ears, gobstoppers, tendons etc. Or use puzzle toys if you can Sit and supervise. Snuffle mats, puzzles etc. Tip 9. Deep snow can hide objects and your dog could plough through the snow and hurt himself. Tip 10. Rat poison! Rats tend to come near homes when it's cold outside as they can find a place to keep warmer. Lots of people put rat poison out. The rat could then die in your garden and the dog could grab the rat and try and eat it. This in turn could poison your dog. Sometimes people use a poison that looks like a plastic block, and dogs will pick these up and chew them. If your dog has any signs of poisoning vet vet vet. AuthorRachel Savage It is that time of year when people celebrate November the 5th with fireworks, now some dogs are fine with loud bangs but not all. So what can you do?
A reminder this week that my friends photos have been stolen and used in advertising of puppies that do not exist, and fake instagram/Facebook pages.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen up. Do not buy puppies through social media. EVER! Social media is a fun way of looking at dogs. But do your research and see what kind of back ground your breeder has. DONT SEND money to anyone with out there being a good paper trail of existence that the breeder is real. Kennel club assured breeders under go checks as do licensed breeders. Ask to see certificates if you are worried. Just do not buy through a photo online, and people will chat too. you via social media and make you think they are real people. We have had our photos stolen online and used in advertising and as soon as we report it, they made a new page again using our photos again. Remember you're only buying a Silvestre puppy if it comes from us directly. We do not use third party sales. We do not use agents. We do not rent out bitches. We do not deliver. If you see delivery only walk away. |
