Last weekend we went to Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Canine society 29th September 2019. 
Ripley who was 6 months and 1 week old was entered and she is a Tango x Gucci daughter.  This was her very first show.  She won puppy class, Best puppy in breed and then went onto win the Gundog puppy group. We are so proud of her.  This means she was the best gundog puppy in show. Winning many other puppies.  What a great start.  Ripley is also doing weekly obedience training.  So not only brains but beauty as well.   Her pedigree name is Silvestre Whoo Whoo.

Indie also went to the show and won limit dog and also won Best of Breed.   What a lovely day it was and the committee should be congratulated in bringing the show now to premier status which means if a dog gets a place in the puppy group it qualifies for Crufts.  So Ripley qualified for Crufts 2020.  I shall look forward to showing her if I am able. 

Also show news Delilah the French bulldog went to a club show and was 4th place in limit class. She has done so very well and we are proud of her and her owner beverly.

I do not have any shows booked as Ive got a busy few weeks ahead. But we are looking to book a show in Europe in 2020, and also another Open show here in the UK.

Dog beds available for sale. Dog furniture not just a flimsy bed. Will last for years. Not chew proof. Made from reclaimed wood. Dogs love them because they are off the ground. Wax is used to colour and give a distressed look.
Bedding is not included as you can then dress them up how you want too. One happy client photographed right had the Xtra large bed for a Mastiff and pug. They also have a Labrador and asked us to put two dogs on the front. In stock are beds with paw prints on the front, but any dog breed can be cut out. I absolutely love them and my dogs love them. We have one shop outlet at the moment who has them, but its cheaper if you purchase direct from us. Courier costs are £20 for small and medium bed. The Xtra large courier costs are much more.
If you have purchased a puppy from us, maybe think now about buying a bed as you can take it home and not have courier costs on top.

Paracord collars for sale. Hand made. Their are two types of collar. Adjustable with choke chain and fixed size. With paracord their is not the flexibility to alter sizes. To order a collar you need to measure your dogs neck as pictured below, send me the measurement and I will make the collar to order. These again have been popular as they are strong and different. I’m now making leads also to match collars. They have a plastic buckle. I have some metal buckles on order also.
Prices vary between product. Starting price is £12 plus postage and packaging of £2. Pay direct to my account. I have paypal but I have to add paypal charge on top which is approx .60p for every £10.

Show news from the weekend. The star of them all was Delilah the French bulldog winning limit bitch again. So not only a crufts qualifying place but also another stud book number place. We are very proud of Delilah and we want to thank the judge Mr Peach for thinking so highly of her.
Delilah is owned and loved by Beverly and Hodd and Delilah is the sister to our own Cookie. Daughters of our Bubbles. Sire was INT.CH. Instant Karma’s Judicious Jamie Eastonite.

On Friday past was gundog day at Driffield. We didnt enter any of our dogs, but Silvestre the Red Woman owned by Susie Butler took her girl and was 1st in Postgradate. Well done on your beautiful girls win. Another crufts qualifying place.

We have had a busy weekend but just doing the normal things. We are having time out from showing although I have a show booked very locally to support it next weekend.

We have no more shows booked this year as we need to concentrate on a new buisness we have just started. But our friends who have dogs which they have bred and used our stud dogs did very well. So here are the results on this weekends shows. Also bear in mind the dogs with the name SILVESTRE in front we have bred ourselves. The other affixes are other breeders who bred to our stud dogs.

Saturday France
Silvestre Ace went over to France and won a CAC, CACIB and BEST OF BREED. Plus entered into the brace class which means you show two dogs together and trot around the ring, and Dexter won it with Logan. Logan was bred by Cheryl Sutherland in Brighton. Dexter is owned By Mr Ian Credland, who is Houndidays home boarding near Brighton.
Carnlochan Morning Star won CAC, CACIB and BOS. She is a Tango daughter. Cheryl bred her.
Carnlochan Jack Frost won RCACIB, RCAC, and partnered with the other dog in brace and won. Another dog bred by Cheryl.
Carnlochan Sirroco won RCACIB and RCAC Another dog bred by Cheryl.

SUNDAY 15th September 19
DARLINGTON CHAMPSHOW.
GInny who is Silvestre Oh Behave for Shelseivad won first in Veteran Bitch and Best Veteran in Breed. Ginny has won several Best Veterans now. Unfortunately the UK shows do not give a veteran champion position as Europe does. Is it she a star though. Clever girly.

Angie and Graham took their dogs which 1 is a Tango son and bred by Angie and Graham. He was 3rd in Junior dog. His name is Wallaroo Hawk Eye. Then you have Jack who is a Chilli son and his name is Wallaroo All That Jazz, who won limit dog again. Jack is a superb dog and he wont the ticked a few months ago under prestige judge Frank Kane. Frank is such a well known judge for his honesty and excellent knowledge on the breed standard. He said Jack should be a champion and we hope he will be as it would be well deserved. Keep on going guys as I’m sure he will get it soon.

In the Uk we get a few different varieties of Ticks. The differences are the colour of the tick, and some like sheep, others like deer etc. Hedgehogs are always full of ticks. Their are spot on parasite controls but to be honest they only work after the tick has made its first bite and starts to drink blood. The poison then kills it. But it is much better to use a tick removal tool. Their are old fashioned remedies you will ready online and none are suitable. A lighted match place on body may burn you, your dog, and the tick can regurgitate food back into the dog. This stands a strong chance of contracting lymes disease. Putting alcohol on the tick can also make the tick regurgitate food back in to the dog. Smearing Vaseline over again just makes the tick regurgitate.
So buy yourself a tick removal tool. Place it carefully on the ticks body and twist off. Twist once, twice and three times and it just pops off. Sometimes it takes 4 times to remove a tick. Then kill tick and dispose of it,

Well after years of training with one very patient owner called Vicky Grylls, her bitch called Spice has now fully qualified as a search and rescue dog. We are so proud of them both. I’m sure she will be a great asset to the Sussex Search and rescue team, and hopefully will find missing people.
Well done Spice you clever girl.

We also have a French bulldog whose using her nose well. Silvestre Orlando’s Magic who is a scent dog, is now working towards level 3. She is now having to recognise oil smells as well as cloves.

We stayed with friends this weekend and on the way back went to Richmond Championship show. I had entered 3 dogs all which got placed.
Roughshoot Moulin Rouge at Silvestre won 1st place in Bitch puppy class, and then went onto win Best puppy in breed. Sadly I couldnt stop to the group as my illness got the better of me and I ended up coming back to bed.
Silvestre Fortune N Glory won 4th place in Junior dog. He now goes to limit class as he’s won a ticket in Belgium. Plus a cacib.
Roughshoot Infra red at silvestre won 5th place in a strong open class.
I would like to thank judge who is breed specialist Mr Moray Armstrong for thinking so highly of our dogs.

One of the most important things you can do when you own a puppy is look in the puppy’s mouth on a weekly basis. Check the teeth and gums. Their should be no smell coming from the mouth. Sometimes meat or bone can be lodged in a tooth and we do not notice immediately if the dog is not in any discomfort. If a dog paws at its mouth or opens its mouth time and time again have a look inside.
Puppies loose teeth early on approx 10 weeks you may find the odd tooth missing. Where do the teeth go? Most likely dogs eat them unknowing. But you may find the odd tooth on the floor. This teething stage varies between animal, and some at 5 months are only getting their adult teeth.
A dog should have 42 teeth in its mouth. Of course you do not have to count teeth.
By opening your puppy’s mouth earlier on, will allow your dog to accept its mouth being looked in when it is older. Teeth cleaning again can start young so they get used to having a toothbrush on the teeth. You can buy doggy toothbrushes from pet shops. Plus toothpaste for dogs.
If you get a build up of plaque on the tooth and your dog will allow you can pick plaque off. Their are handy tooth de-scalers available from groomers online. Simply wait until evening when the dog is resting and have a little pick off the plaque.
If it builds up and you can not do it, your vet will be able to clean the dogs teeth for you. It is not cheap however.
You can buy denta sticks in various forms. I prefer Whimzee vegetable made chews. I also find toys which help with the chewing and of course their is nothing as good as a large raw meaty bone.
Their are even additives to food which can help reduce plaque. Plaque off is one such powder. But check www.dorwest.com for any handy ideas they have for natural additives which help teeth.
If your adult dog knocks a tooth out, then their is not a lot you can do. Some people do have dentistry done on their dogs at great costs with specialists. But so long as the dogs not in any pain the area will heal up just as we do, and feel better in a few weeks. But check no infection occurs and if it does then VET.

We had a good day at the champ show and two of our own dogs qualified for 2020 Crufts. But also several of our stud dogs offspring did well too.
