It feels like a while since I wrote anything for the website.   Ive been busy with our French bulldog babies which are now 9 weeks old and ready to go off to their new homes. They have been a joy and I had forgotten how much I enjoy them as a breed as puppies.  Our last litter of Frenchies was 3 1/2 years ago.  I think people forget that although we own a few different dogs they aren't all having litters all the time.  It was Frooti's first litter and she did so very well that we are proud of her.  Now she can spend her nighttimes cuddled up on our bed again.   We have kept her daughter Kiki and Im sure you will see photos of the pair on instagram on occasion.  I always say French bulldogs are my indulgence.  So now I own three as I have Reggie, Kiki and Frooti.  A little family unit.  Reggie stepped up to the Job of dad very well. He has played with his puppies, loved them, shown them what to get up too and he has also protected them.  

What is a blood titre test? A blood sample is taken by a vet nurse or vet.  Sending it to a lab and they check the blood for anti bodies. Most labs readings are 0-6
Dragon Labs does a reasonable blood titre test price. 

I have just had Nancy blood titre tested.  Our vet nurse took the blood and I put it in the pack and sent to Dragon labs.  This was to see if she has immunity. The results came in that she in fact has good immunity and wont need doing again for 3 years. 
 I am delighted that with no vaccine my dog has antibodies.

As nearly everyone knows I have done worm counts on adult dogs for some time. Why you may ask? Well the truth is that these products are having a detrimental effect on all dogs across the country. Not just one breed of dog, all breeds plus cross breeds.  We see daily dogs with hot spots from chemical burns, we see dogs destroyed because they have swallowed a tablet which has effected their brain and causes aggression. We see dogs daily fitting from these products.  A massive cover up because no-one wants to admit liability.  Vets blame breeders for producing dogs with epilepsy when its the monthly giving of poison which is effecting brains. 

This leaves us all in a worried state not daring to try something else because we are told only use spot on or tablets.  But there is another way. 

Ive recently had a French bulldog litter. Frooti is the mum.  I have worm counted then at 5 weeks and the result is above.  I shall do them again at 7 weeks.  Go to www.wormcount.com

Adult dogs you can do worm count, Giardia count and lung worm count.  
Ive just written an article on Giardia and put in the hidden folders.
You may find you can go to every 6 months instead of 3 if you live in an area where there are low instance of parasites.  Other people find they have to do counts more often.

You want a relationship with your breeder so you can ask questions any time you want as your puppy develops.  Vizsla puppies in particular are not an easy breed for a start.  You will sit down and wonder what you have taken on. But as time passes and they develop and mature you will have the best dog you've ever owner.  I couldnt imagine life with out one, two three as I say.  They also love companionship so another dog in the house is beneficial.

Today I spent a very interesting day in the company of my good friend and we attended a dog law seminar.
Trevor Cooper is the leading solicitor in dog law.  I would like to thank him for his seminar and I learnt more on dogs.  Ive always said my knowledge is quite wide where it comes to dogs, but I am always up for learning something new.  In dog ownership I think you are forever learning. 

I remember someone asking me once why have 2 breeds of dog and not just specialise in one breed.  Well the fact is I love dogs, I cant own all the dog breeds I would like too in my lifetime.   But I wouldn't say I get bored with one breed, but I really enjoy learning.  I am on a journey for me to understand more than one dog breed.   
The world of dogs is a learning kerb, and I really enjoy learning something new.  
I learnt lots today I did not think about before, like what happens to dogs in a divorce. What happens if you're reported for barking dogs. But much much more. Now I would like to attend another seminar which I hope he puts on.
