Very proud to say we have passed our Council inspection for another 3 years license to breed dogs. We also have been awarded Five stars again. Thankyou to Lucy for making it all so easy.
Anyone in our local area who has reservations about having a license please note they are there to help you achieve the license. The law is simply if you sell dogs, have adverts/website, you should apply to your council for a license. We know a huge percentage of dog owners do not do this, and its a legal requirement. Do not be scared of applying. If the paperwork looks out of your depth, they're are online ladies and gents who sell the license packs for you just to fill in. Already done. Their are Facebook groups to help educate on how to get one. So don't feel alone. As potential owners of puppies you must ask each breeder if they have a license. This is something they are asking for us to educate you. Because if you just buy off a breeder with out a license your agreeing with the unlawful sale of dogs and promoting an illegal trade in dogs. Its all because some wording on council websites which state you can have three litters. But they ignore the part that says if you sell the puppy. Because you can have puppies and give them away for free, but that means you as the owner must part with no money. We are aware of one scam where breeders do not charge for a puppy. But sell you the puppy pack for £1999 surely you know you're in the scam doing this. So let's put thumbs up now for legal sales, good welfare and let's not promote these other breeders who say they have just a pet they are breeding from. But they end up breeding more than the licensed breeder. Now is the time to only go to proper Chanels to buy dogs. If you need help contact me.

We have just had a well earned break which we both needed very much. I have been caring for my mother who is at end of life stages, and she has now perked up again. Which is fab as this means I can get on with more with my dogs again. Its a balance.
We are looking forward to Jovie puppies in July and I think she looks to have about 6-7 puppies inside her. Time will tell as she has not dropped yet. As puppies grow inside mum they get larger, and take up more room in the uterine horns. Vizsla carry them under the rib cage and this is why scans are so ridiculous inaccurate. As they grow the ones under the ribs drop down into the stomach and suddenly the belly looks bigger. Jovie tummy has not dropped yet. It should do with in the next week. Jovie is being fed a high protein diet, with lots of fresh herbs and seasonal fruits. She looks a picture of health. She has always lived with another dog in the house, but we are now separating her to give her more room to spread out. Another week and I will erect a large puppy whelping pen with area for her to spread out and be comfortable. She is being run with the others still at the moment but again in another week we shall start to walk her separate so they do not run into her. Every need, every care is definitely met. I see so many new vizsla breeders asking questions on forums and I want to scream!!! Letting pregnant mums swim in cold water days before having puppies. Not giving them adequate diet. I couldn't believe the other week where one breeder hated her puppies so much because they scream. Vizsla puppies make noise from 3 weeks, and by 5 weeks are quite vocal. Your in the wrong job if you hate your puppies and you should never do it again. How any one can give so little care is beyond me. Leaving them in a small pen day and night is cruelty. The Vizsla needs space to run, develop muscle, explore and enjoy themselves. We have enrichment toys all ready. A happy puppy is a content puppy. I would advise anyone looking for a puppy goes to experienced breeders as you'll get a much better contented puppy. Frustrated babies have behavioural issues later. Too many see £ signs and cut corners. There are many excellent breeders in the UK, and we have many breeders who are breeding off their pet to make money, no health tests, not giving the enrichment they need. Choose your breeder wisely. It does matter!! Give a puppy farmer your money and they will continue. Ask to see the breeders license number and check they are legitimate breeders. You can read on our council website that anyone selling puppies is required to have one. We must stop fuelling this illegal trade in dogs. We get super excited when we collect an 8 week old puppy. They spend about two weeks being a puppy but then their bodies are growing fast. They can grow 1 kilo per week. For some they grow unevenly. We see as they grow all sorts of growth problems which ALL rectify themselves as they get to six to nine months.
We see teeth fall out, gums red and bleeding. We see the bite change. We see weak pasterns, lameness occasionally, the dog may look very. bum high and some dogs ears look misshapen. But all these things change and as they come out the other side the suddenly look like the lovely puppy we had hoped for. So do not panic. Silvestre owners read my new page on the silvestre owners access page, on each problem, what supplements to give and what you need to do. Rachel x Silvestre Owners. Check out on our health page for my paper on puppy vaginitis.
This is when a puppy has a white milky discharge coming from the vulva. More commonly seen in the Weimaraner. But any breed can potentially have it. Find out how to treat it. Hope this page helps my owners. |
