Our foundation Vizsla Scarlett left us Monday 26th June. She was bred by Hilary and Emma Davis of Shelseivad Gundogs.
Scarlett had a tricky start in the world as her mother died after having her and her brother Granville. But Judith from Stanegate Vizsla and Whipspan pointers and Irish water spaniels took Scarlett and put her with one of her mother Vizsla and she reared her. So Scarlett had a mum but not her birth mother. She was a very special dog to us, as she actually had a sixth sense and saved our lives once. She knew when on coming danger approached. Scarlett died of old age, nothing we could do accept hold her in our arms whilst she drifted slowly away in the vets room. Scarlett has left a legacy of offspring behind, as we own her daughter and grand daughters. Also one puppy from Scarlett first litter went to Brighton to be the foundation of Carnlochan Vizsla. Then one of Scarlett's litter went also to Hilary and Emma and they have campaigned her at shows and she has a RCC and stud book number, and now she is a mother and grand mother. So a piece of Scarlett will continue in the legacy she has left. Our home is empty of course. Her place on the sofa now has a hole. Chilli her half brother is pining for her and is sleeping with us in our bedroom until he understands fully she is not coming home. With out Scarlett, Silvestre Vizsla would not of started. We are forever in her debt for giving us the best years of her life. Pictured left Ginga who is Scarlett daughter, and Scarlett. Pictured right is Scarlett as a baby.

A very good weekend was had by all my friends. Starting on Saturday 10th June. I was judging Weimaraners at Newmarket show, and I had a wonderful entry of Weimaraners. Thankyou to everyone who came under me. I wanted to say I could of given several first places in one class as all dogs warranted merit and their was something to like about all. But a young girl shone on the day owned by Debbie wallwork. Vizsla was judged on the day by someone else, and they had a good day too. A Chilli daughter won puppy class, Best puppy and puppy group 4, called Roughshoot Juniper. Post graduate class was won by Silvestre Red Edition, another Chilli x Ginga Daughter. Then Open was won by Wallaroo All that Jazz. He went onto win best of breed, Group 1, Best in show day 1 and reserve best in show day two. Then it was Three counties championship show. Jack (Wallaroo all that Jazz Chilli son ) won a big PGD class. Our own Tango won 2nd in limit dog. Home bred Silvestre Blazing Saddles won first place limit dog and RDCC making it his third RCC. Then Silvestre's Jolene got 3rd place in minor puppy bitch which is again another Crufts qualifying place. So well done everyone, and now I'm exhausted. I need a weekend to get over the weekend. |
