What is a breed appreciation day (BAD) ? This is a seminar held by a breed club to explain the breed standard of the dog. A breed specialist gives a talk in conjunction with the approval of the kennel club. They show photos and bring a dog along to show you the points of the dog you should understand. It is with a view to judging the breed. Anyone wanting to go up the judging list these days must complete exams on the breed of the dog.
Today was the Bracco Italiano BAD day and luckily for me it was at Newark so only 1 hour 34 mins to the venue. Started at 10am and finished the talk around 12, and then the exam. I cant thank the committee enough for putting so much hard work into giving up their spare time to educate a group of people about the breed. I learnt loads as I’m so new to the breed, but the only way to learn is to go to these type of events. Thankfully Darryl looked after team Silvestre whilst I was away for the day. We are. Team as we help each other. I’m very pleased to say I passed the exam. So will now apply to go on the C list of Bracco Italiano.
