Some breeds need little exercise and others more. But the one thing in common all dogs have is they should not be over exercised when young. The Vizsla is attracting active people who want to spend hours jogging with their dog but we should not allow our dog to jog beside us until 18 months of age. Dogs bones aren't set, and haven’t matured.
Their is a guideline on how much exercise a dog should have per day and this is 5 mins exercise per month of age. 15 mins up to twice a day. 20 mins when four months. Once a dog is an adult he can do as much exercise as you like. Some breeds of dogs do not require much exercise and the Pug and Frenchie do not need the same exercise as a gundog. Another thing to remember is dogs do not need exercising in hot weather. They need to walk in the early hours of the morning or later in the evening.
