Cookie the French bulldog went to our vet a few weeks ago for a health test called "The french bulldog club bronze test", not only did she pass this with flying colours but she also qualified for the silver certificate as well. This healthy madam who is the joy of our lives is in a word fit as a fiddle.
Our vet sees many french bulldogs because unfortunately so many are bred unhealthy. She was so pleased to run a Frenchie for 5 minutes at a quick march and have no breathing issues, and she said wow! Great nostrils, and her patellas don't slip out as if that is something else she's dealing with a lot. She was quite impressed. So I hope to have a litter with her in 2019. I know that seems a long way off, but we go through a series of health tests first. Each one is a stage closer to the eventual breeding. I do have a lovely boy in mind for her. Her mother is Eastonite Bubbles who of course we own. So Bubbles produced us super duper babies. Bubbles will be mated in 2018 but as yet I still do not know when she will come into season. She seems to be rather unpredictable but when she does we will be mating her. Im still trying to find a male for her, and Im getting closer to decisions now. Just remember we do not breed UNRECOGNISED colours which are cross breeds. We will maintain the correct colour, pure bred pedigree french bulldogs, and we are now in the minority as so many are interbred with collies, pitbull, staffy, and others. Our french bulldogs are pure bred french bulldogs.
